24. Concealing the wounds

At Stephen's,

''Where's Yeomna ?'' Stephen asked.
''I don't know. He's probably doing something important with Rebecca.'' She said stressing on the word.
''Let's wait for him.'' And as if Damein was on cue, he entered the room.

''Sorry i'm late. Some thing came up.''

''It's okay. Did you both find what you were looking for at the hospital ?'' Stephen asked as Damein shared a look with Mara.
''Ofcourse you wouldn't find it. Cause it's already with Seokga.'' Stephen said pacing around the two. Mara and Damein are flabbergasted.

''What ? H--how'd you ?''
''Who do you think I am Halmang ?''

''I am Haemosu, first born of Sang je the king of gods. Do you really think so lowly of me ?''
''Since when did you know ?'' Mara asked.
''The night you came back home, you were behaving differently. The night you stole the clue from Seokga.''
''You stole the clue ? You told me that Spencer lost it and you somehow found it. Since when are we doing thievery huh ?'' Damein felt wronged.

''Then do what ? Just watch him win ? It's cliche but everything is fair in love and war.
If only you hadn't lost the clue, we would have easily found the Eternal fire until now.
Spencer has everything. He got the descendant, he got the clue, he got everything ! And here we stand again empty handed.'' Mara lashed out.

''We are not empty handed Halmang. We are on the right path. We have values and morals which are far more valuable than anything.'' Stephen said.
''Values and morals won't show us the way to the Eternal fire Haemosu. Leave this. I atleast made an attempt to find out about the clue. What are you doing ? I don't know what you're upto. I thought we all were together in this.''

Meanwhile at the restaurant,

''Actually I have something to say.'' Hannah started.
''What's it ?'' Spencer asked.
''Can we just stop our search for the time being ?
I mean at first I didn't think that I would so easily come to find one of the victim.
But this story is no rainbows, it's pretty serious & I can't take it so lightly. So currently I just want to give it my all on finding the serial killer and getting justice to everyone who unfortunately became his prey. You can take it as a fav---''
''Fine fine. You can't manage both anyways. If you do you'll mess up the search, which I don't want. We'll stop the search for sometime then.'' Spencer said interrupting Hannah.

''Thank you !'' She gave him a smile.
''Also if you need any help with this, you can tell me. I just want to finish this real quick and get back to the tasks. I don't have forever.'' He said looking away to Hannah's sweet gaze.
''Sure ! It's fine till your brother doesn't get ahead of us right ?''
''I guess yeah.''
''You never told me his name, did you ?''

''No I didn't. It's Haemosu.''

On the other hand,

''Do you think i've been sitting idle over here ? Seokga is doing things the wrong way and he should know that. I've been after him since I got to know what he's up to.'' Stephen said.

''What do you mean ?'' Damein asked.
''He's taking help the wrong way, from the wrong people. Im really close to something. Just give me some time. I'll tell you guys soon enough.''
''Fine.'' Mara agreed.
''Okay, I understand this but what's with this new team and jaiden ?'' Damein asked.
''Yeah, I've been meaning to ask that too. Jaiden is not even in our agency. Why would we give him special attention leaving our members ?'' Mara asked.

''I added damein to the team because of Hannah. You see wherever Hannah is, Spencer will surely be there too.'' He said heaving a short sigh.
''And a common chain between them is Jaiden who's at the hospital. Maybe not for too long but atleast until then, Damein I want you to keep an eye on what Seokga is up to.
I can't be everywhere and Mara is busy keeping the workplace in order. Damein, you can do this right ?''
''Fine. I'll do it. But Spencer's too clever to let me on anything. I'll still try.'' Damein said.
