20. Communication

Hannah walked to her desk and found Rebecca standing there making a guilty puppy face.

''Hannah, can we talk ?'' She asked as Hannah nodded.
''Hannah i'm really sorry about what I did. I shouldn't have left you alone. I did wrong. I ran from my responsibilities, I ------''

Hannah interrupts Rebecca,
''Calm down Rebecca. It's fine. I get it.''
''Then you aren't mad at me right ?''
''Who said I am not ? I couldn't get any extra information at the police station and then Spencer came there and.... Anyways a lot of things went wrong because you backed off last moment. And yes I am upset with you.'' Hannah said making Rebecca stare at the floor guiltily.

''I'm-----''
''But if you buy me steak for dinner i'll forgive you.'' Hannah said making her look up as she smiled.
''Thanks so much, chinguya !'' Rebecca side hugged Hannah.
''Let's directly go there after this shift ends. I'll go and talk about the interview with Chairman.

At Stephen's cabin,

''Great work Hannah. I'm impressed.'' Stephen complimented.
''Thanks Sir.''
''Hannah, I actually wanted to announce this in front of everyone. But since you're here i'll tell you anyways. We will not be writing or talking about the serial killer issue.'' He said making her smile drop.
''But sir-----''
''I know, its a big loss for us but I can't risk our employees and staff's safety just for some minutes of news. Hannah, people who got included in this have been hurt badly. I don't want that to happen to anyone of us. I hope you understand.''
''Yes sir, I do. Then i'll take my leave.''

Hannah turns around to leave when Stephen calls her.

''Hannah.''
''Yes sir ?''
''You should be careful too. I mean, the area you live in doesn't seem the safest and please try not to get involved in this.''

''I'll take care sir. You should be careful too.''

Its nighttime,
Hannah and Rebecca are at the restaurant.

''I'll text Spencer and tell him we're eating out and we'll be late.'' Rebecca said fishing out her phone.
''He said he would treat us earlier in the afternoon and then suddenly bailed out. What is he upto ?'' Hannah said her thoughts aloud.
''He replied. He said it's fine and to----''
''And what ? Why did you put on your confused face ?'' Hannah asked.
''He said to take care and be careful while coming home.'' Rebecca looked up to Hannah glancing back to the text.
''Well he cares about you atleast.'' Hannah said sipping on some water.
''He said that to you.'' Rebecca added making Hannah almost spit out the water.
''What ?! Is he alright ? He's been doing this since morning. I don't know what's gotten into him.''

''He's behaving suspicious you know. But did he do something else ?''
''He called me after the interview and when I told him I was at the police station he asked me whether I was fine or not and what I was doing there.'' Hannah narrated.
''He must be concerned. I think he finally wants truce.''
''I doubt that. He's tryna act nice cause he wants my help.''
''Could be a possibility.''

''Well we've got stuff to talk about right. You go first.'' Hannah said resting her hands on the table.
''It's nothing much it's just that I....''
''C'mon Ryu, its written all over your face that you're worried about something. Maybe we could come up with a solution.''
''So actually there's this girl named Hae Ra.....'' Rebecca explains her the whole thing leaving the Damein part.

''I understand the whole scenario.''
''So what should I do ?'' Rebecca asked.
''It's simple but not so simple.''
''What ?''
''Confess your feelings to Jaiden.'' Hannah simply said.
''What ? I can't do that !'' Rebecca exclaimed.
''Ryu, calm down. You have to tell him how you feel about him one day, so why not now ?''
''Hannah you aren't getting it. It's not easy.''

''Look, I know exactly what you're thinking. What if he rejects you and doesn't reciprocate ? What if because of your confession, your 10 years of friendship gets ruined ?
I understand how difficult it is for you to take this step but Rebecca trust me, if it's not now then never. Not everyone's soulmate comes to them like this and if you're getting an opportunity by destiny, you shouldn't let it go waste.'' Hannah encouraged Rebecca.
''I understand what you're saying. I just need some time to think about it.''
''Take all the time you need. And when you're ready just let me know. I'll cheer on you.'' Hannah smiled.
''Thanks a lot Hannah ! I feel good now.''

I'm sorry Hannah I still haven't told you the entire truth. I just told you about Hae Ra and Jaiden not about my and Damein's fake relationship.

''Enough about me. Now tell me what happened today.'' Rebecca asked.
''So after the interview there was this man I kinda bumped into and he turned out to be a victim of the serial killer. His name is Min woo.''
''Omg what ?'' Rebecca almost choked on her steak.
''Yeah, apparently his sister is the victim and out of all the other victims she's the only one who survived from the incident.
Fortunately, he agreed to share his story and we are meeting tomorrow at 6.''
''That's great Hannah ! We are finally putting something big out there on our own.'' Rebecca said excitedly.
''Yeah but.....''
''But what ?''

''Actually Chairman announced today that he doesn't want anyone to get involved with this case. And he specifically told me to stay out of it.'' Hannah explained.
''Where did the super curious Hannah go who did stuff she was told not to ?''
''It's not that Rebecca, I never get a good feeling about this. But I guess we can't back off now that we have the victim's family statements.''
''Now, that's my friend. Anyways why was Spencer there ?''
''Ah, nothing special.''
''Don't tell me there's something going on with you guys and you're keeping it from me.'' Rebecca eyed Hannah suspiciously.
''C'mon Ryu, me and Spencer ? That's the worst pair anyone could come up with. He just came there because he was nearby.''
''If you say so.''

Meanwhile at Stephen's,

''What's going on Haemosu ? Neither are you telling me what to do nor are you trying to find about the task yourself.'' Damein confronted Stephen.
''Trust me Yeomna, I haven't been kidding around. I'm onto something and when I finally end my search you'll be the first one to know.'' He assured the God of Underworld.

''It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that we have less time on our hands and Seokga already has help since he's with the descendant.'' Damein said.
''But she's in the dark. She doesn't know that he's a God and Seokga is probably using her by his cunning methods.'' Stephen defended Hannah.
''I agree. Those girls are a bit too nice to everyone.'' Damein said wandering in thoughts.
''You talking about Rebecca ?''
''Yeah.''
''I wanted to ask you this anyways. What are you doing in the hospital these days ? I mean you stay at the hospital more than home or office.''
''Nothing much. I started doing this because I was suspicious of Rebecca. But now it's something different.''

I know what's different. They both like each other as Hannah had said that day.
''I'll tell you about it when i'm sure.'' Damein said as Stephen nodded not knowing that he has misunderstood big time. 
''Right, the serial killer issue going on, do you think we should intervene ?'' Stephen asked for an opinion.
''I think we should stay still for now. If needed we will. Right ?''
''I agree.''

''I've been waiting for you the whole day. Does your majesty have time now ?'' Spencer said sarcastically as Hannah & Rebecca stepped in.
''Wow, that sounded good. Say it once more and i'll go with you.'' Hannah played along.
''Really ?'' Spencer gave a are you serious look.
''Looks like you guys have things to sort out so good night.'' She walked away.
''Good night Rebecca !'' Spencer smiled then returned back to his sulky expression.

He's such a mood.

''I was waiting the whole day to meet you.'' He said walking closer to Hannah.
''Wait a second, are you sulking right now because I didn't meet you ?'' Hannah said raising a brow as an evident teasing smile crept on her face.
''Sulking, who ? I'm not sulking or anything.''

''Yeah yeah. What did you want to say ?'' She smiled taking a seat on the couch.
''Look before I tell you what I tell you, you should know that I am the most clever and intelligent God ever born. But this stupid clue is not my thing.'' He said irritatedly opening the paper making Hannah chuckle.
''Wow ! The most intelligent, clever, cunning God can't solve a simple clue.''
''Yeah, laugh all you want after you solve this.'' He raised both his eyebrows challenging her.
''Okay, show me the paper. I didnt had the time that day to even see it properly.'' Hannah looked at the paper carefully. She flipped it back & front and turned it to each side only to exclaim,
''What's this ?''
''What happened ?''
