I THINK I OPENED THE CAR DOOR BEFORE THE CAR MANAGED to come to halt. I felt the anticipation running through my veins as I leaped out of the car door and stood in front of the rides. I stared at the games in excitement as I tried my hardest to contain all of it within me. I was so encapsulated by the game in front of me that I didn't even notice that Ren had gotten out of the car and was standing beside me. When I finally noticed his presence I turned my head towards him, a big smile on my face, as he stared back at me with an amused expression on his. I didn't say anything but I looked at him before nodding my head towards the carnival, trying to signal that I was dying to enter. He let out a small laugh as he stared at the ground before grabbing my hands in his own. He began walking towards the carnival entrance with me close behind. We walked towards the first game hand in hand as he eyed the difficulty level of it. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his initial reaction to the game before letting go of his hand and walking up to the booth.
The worker at the booth was an older lady who smiled at me kindly before handing me 3 rings. She looked at me as if asking me whether I knew how to play the game but I gave her a small smile in return, letting her know that I was ready to play. Ren slowly walked up behind me and kept a safe distance as he waited for me to toss the first ring. I closed one of my eyes as I tilted my head in every direction and angle possible, trying to get the best chance at winning. Once I was satisfied with my plan I stood straight up while taking a deep breath. I held the edge of the plastic ring in between my fingers as I slowly pulled it inwards and flicked it back out. I couldn't help but jump up and down in excitement as I watched the ring loop around one of the pegs, spinning uncontrollably until it came to a stop.
I calmed myself down as I looked at the remaining two plastic rings in my hand. I turned my head around at Ren as he now switched positions, his arms crossed in front of him as he ever so slightly leaned forward, now intrigued by the game. I looked back at the pegs in front of me as I held the second ring in between my fingers. I inhaled sharply as I pulled the ring back before once again flinging it forward. It felt like it was moving in slow motion before hooking on one of the pegs. This time I couldn't wait before holding the third ring in position and flinging it towards the pegs. I opened my mouth in shock as all three rings managed to stay on the pegs of the board. I did it.
I did it.
"Did you see that? I did that!" I said excitedly to Ren
I pointed my finger at him as I smiled as wide as I could. He looked back at me before giving me a nod and walking up to the booth next to me. His eyes were now scanning across the back wall of the game before returning back to mine.
