DING. DING. DING. DING. DING.

"Gorya, can you just turn off your phone?" I asked

She gave me an apologetic look before turning off her ringer on her phone and putting it back into her pocket. Gorya looked at me with a smile before grabbing my arm and latching onto it as we approached the school gate in front of us.

Even though she turned off her ringer I could still feel the vibration of the notifications flooding in through her pocket. I hated the red cards. I hated the game. I quickly pulled out my phone before checking the time.

On the first day of school at 7:30 AM, someone received a red card. What could they have possibly done to deserve it? Gorya turned her head and saw me lost in thought before lightly pinching my cheek.

"Don't think about it too much. Remember our goal is to have a peaceful and quiet year" She said.

I slowly nodded to what she was saying before we entered the school gates. Once we reached inside the building she detached herself from my arm before giving me a hug and heading down the opposite hallway. Since I was a year younger than Gorya I was put in a different class down the hall. As I slowly made my way towards my classroom I could see the walls were covered with different posters.

Some were advertising plays and clubs while others were just posters of F4. I rolled my eyes at the posters of them before heading into my classroom. The room was relatively quiet as most kids had run out of the building to the stadium because of the red card given out this morning.

I slipped past the desks in the front row before plopping down in a seat in the very back of the room. I took a look at the backpacks thrown across the floor and the items left forgotten as people had probably run out in a frenzy. The teacher was nowhere to be seen in the classroom, she had probably run to hide in her office to avoid the riled-up herd of students. The shouts of the students coming from outside began to grow louder.

The chanting. Violence. Screaming. It was all too much for me to handle.

While Gorya had always been strong and set in her ways of fighting against those who hurt others, I always grew anxious around the idea of fighting. My palms began to grow sweaty and the sinking feeling in my stomach began to grow stronger. The scraping sound of my chair rubbing against the floor echoed around the classroom before I ran out.

I ran and ran until I managed to get somewhere where I could breathe fresh air without having to deal with the screaming coming from the stadium. The roof was as quiet as it had been the previous school year. My safe place. The only place in school where I felt I could be free without the fear of getting the spotlight put on me. I ran up to the railings before gripping the cold metal with both of my hands.

"This school is so messed up. Who allows this much violence to happen for no reason!?" I screamed.

My chest began heaving up and down as I screamed with every ounce of frustration that I had felt. No matter how much I screamed the roof always returned to a state of peace and quiet. That was what I always appreciated about it. I stood by the railing with my hands gripping the metal.

"You hate this school that much?"

I practically jumped in the air before turning around with a newfound speed. My throat felt tight as I looked around the mysterious voice. My eyes eventually found a boy sitting towards the side of the roof, hidden by tarps and desks.

"I don't hate the school. I hate the violence" I said shakily

His eyes held a sort of amusement as he looked me up and down. His face was still partially covered by one of the tarps from the angle that he was sitting. As he slowly began to stand up from his position on the desks I slowly backed up. When he reached his full height, I saw how much taller he truly was, and then I saw his face. Renrawin Aira. Ren. The quiet and observant member of F4.

"I would have to agree with you," he said

He slowly began walking towards the railing where I was standing. As he was standing next to me he looked out the railing staring at the buildings in front of us. I slowly turned back around staring at the view next to him. I began tapping my thumb against the railing as each second passed us by silently.

Do I trust him? Why am I standing here with him?

I remembered the promise that Gorya and I had made this morning, have a peaceful and quiet year. I needed to get out of here. I averted my gaze to the floor as I began backing up from the railing.

"Sorry, I'll just leave you be. I didn't mean to interrupt your nap or peace or moment of silence, or if you were meditating. I jus-"

His hand shot out and lightly gripped my wrist to prevent me from backing up any further. He turned his head away from the scenery to look at me. He stared into my eyes before slowly walking towards me. With every step he took towards me I wanted to take one back but his grip prevented me from moving.

He stopped right in front of me before putting his face close up to mine. I began tapping my foot out of fear. He didn't move any closer but didn't back up either. He just stayed there, staring right at me. I could see every detail of his face. A smile slowly made its way up to his face as he removed his hand from my wrist and put it on top of my head. He gave me one last smile before backing up and walking towards the door.

"You stay, it was I who intruded your moment," he said and with that, he disappeared out the door.

I slowly collapsed to the floor grasping my heart. It felt like it was beating out of my chest as my sweaty palms grasped at it. How was it that I managed to bump into a member of F4 within the first hour of school? That was the moment that I knew that this would never be a quiet and peaceful year.
