I FELT MYSELF SLOWLY PULL AWAY FROM REN before looking down at him in shock. Did this really happen? I brought my hand to my arm before lightly pinching it. I yelped in pain before I felt Ren's hand securely place itself above my own. I looked back at him as he stayed focused on removing my hand from my arm.
"What are you doing?" He asked me in a concerned tone.
I gently shook off his hand before standing up from the bed. I shook my head back and forth as I tried to process everything that had just happened. I brought my hand up to my lips as I stared at Ren in shock. He slowly stood up from the bed with his hand held out in front of him as he began talking to me. I could see his lips moving but I couldn't hear anything that he was saying. I felt my chest beginning to rise and fall at a quick pace as I looked around the room. The artificial lighting was now getting brighter and the white walls appeared to be caging me in rather than comforting. I squinted as the bright lights continued to get brighter, my vision now completely covered by the white lights. I walked backward before feeling myself fall over the medicine box. I felt the impact from the fall as I landed on my butt. I didn't feel the pain though. I didn't feel anything.
The ringing was growing in my ears as I turned my head, trying to get my vision back intact. I brought my hands up to my ears as I shook my head as hard as I could. I felt the tears falling out of my eyes as I kept them closed and firmly shut.
I'm the worst sister ever. I'm the worst sister ever. Selfish. Selfish. Selfish.
I felt two warm hands cover my own as they applied gentle pressure to my ears. I was now heaving as I had lost my ability to breathe for a second. Ren didn't move his hands as he kept them firmly over my own. He was giving me enough space to calm down while still letting me know that he was right next to me.
"I-I'm the worst sister ever," I whispered
"The worst, the worst, the worst, the worst..." I continued to say as more tears spilled out.
Ren didn't say anything before slowly removing one of his hands from on top of my own and placing it on my back. He began rubbing slow circles against the soft material of my uniform as I tried taking a couple of deep breaths. My body shook with hiccups every time I tried to take a breath, but I continued nonetheless.
