Massive footsteps shook the large forest. Someone was out for a walk in that exact forest, wandering the trails for anything special. It was uncommon but certainly not rare for the ground to shake in this forest, so the walker thought nothing of it. Or well, until they saw it.
They ran back into the town in fright, frantically zig-zagging in between trees. They finally reached the town and rushed over to a group of people. They panted wildly, trying to catch their breath.
"I- I saw -I saw the giant..." they puffed in between gaps of breath. The group looked at him in disbelief.
"I'm surprised it didn't terrify you." One said sarcastically. The group burst out laughing. The hiker looked at them with hatred but quickly looked away in embarrassment.

Blaze was having a blast being able to stretch his legs again. He ran around the forest, careful not to knock any trees down. He made it to the edge of a small cliff. He looked at the beautiful landscape. Green grass flowed between rocks and hills, turkeys fluttered around in sight of Blaze. He didn't care much, everyone did that.
Blaze laid down in the bottom of the wide valleys, he didn't know what it was called but he knew it was home. He watched as the sun set over the gorgeous mountains, stars beginning to flicker awake. Blaze smiled at his imagination.
Blaze sat up slowly and headed over to the 'small' pond. It was actually pretty large to a human. Blaze looked at himself in the calm water. His cinnamon hair hanging down, his golden eyes staring back at him. He booped the water, causing the reflection to dissipate. He laughed a bit at this. He laid down on the grass and shrank down.
"Ooooooh that felt nice." Blaze said to himself. He hugged the grass around him, excitement still flowed through him. He stared up at the stars one last time. One zipped across the sky. "I wish-"

"I wish I made a friend." F whispered quietly to themself. They looked longingly at a picture frame next to his window. "Maybe I shouldn't have left..." they clicked off the fairy lights around their little nook where their bed was. They stared at their ceiling as they slowly drifted off to sleep.

F slowly opened their eyes at the blinding light filling the room. They groaned at the early sunrise. They slowly sat up and went to the kitchen for some breakfast. F yoinked their work uniform jacket off their bedroom chair and slowly put it on.
Today was the end of their first week on the job. F was a little excited but mostly wanted to get the day over with. They gulped down their coffee and slipped on their shoes. The door gently closed behind them as not to wake the other people in the apartment.
"Just a couple more weeks and you're out of this place." F whispered. They nodded to themself and headed off to work.
F made it to the gas station and clocked into their shift. They were just finished setting up when their boss came around the corner with a new recruit. F tilted their head a little in confusion.
"F, I want you to meet your new work partner, Blaze." The boss told them. Blaze awkwardly waved at F. F smiled back a bit. The boss left the two alone.
"So... uhmm, I would recommend, um uh, is this your first job?" F asked.
"Uh yea. Um, if there's any heavy lifting job I could do that..." Blaze didn't know what to do at all. F looked blankly at the register.
"You could stock the shelves but I doubt there would be anything to stock, the only other option in waiting for a customer." F looked at Blaze. He nodded and sat down in one of the register chairs. F did the same.
"So how long have you been working here?" Blaze asked awkwardly.
"About a week now." F kinda wanted to avoid talking. Blaze wanted to respect them.
The two mostly sat in an awkward silence. Throughout the day they did tasks here and there. Blase stacked heavy stock and stocked high shelves. F did the more useless jobs. Either way the day was done and the two headed to their homes. F noticed Blaze entering the woods.
"Must have a cabin..." F said to himself. He headed home.
At their house F decided to order a new book. They really like fantasy so they bought a new series, the description said it had giants and flying islands. They were really excited for it to arrive. F took one of the many instant noodles they had stored, and began to boil some water.
After the noodles were made and they ate them all, they went to bed. Like last night, they gazed out their loft window. The stars twinkled in the sky, the moon just barely visable. F smiled at the scene as they slowly drifted into slumber.
