The next morning F woke up to what felt like a small earthquake. They jolted awake and stared out their window for a good few minutes. What the hell was that? F thought to themself. They got up and cautiously left the room. They made a quick bowl of cereal and went to their front door holding the bowl. They were surprised to see that the book had arrived already. They went to the kitchen table and started reading the first chapter.
F finished reading and left to go get dressed. Afterwards, they plopped on their socks and shoes and left their house. They began walking to work when they saw Blaze running up to them.
"See you're all ready for work... Whatcha got there?" Blaze walked beside F. He pointed to the book in their arms.
"It- it's probably too childish for you..."
"I bet not, come on, tell me!"
"Fine, It's about fantasy stuff like giants and fairies." F watched as Blaze's face went from all excited to a 'oh yeah those things' kinda face. "Told you it was childish."
"It's not childish! It's just, what's its thoughts on giants?" Blaze quickly got interested in this book.
"I don't know yet, but they live in this realm. It's pretty cool so far. I really like the massive floating islands and the central tree idea so far! Opps, too much information, sorry I tend to do that alot." F sped up a little. Blaze quickly caught up with his long legs.
"No worries. So, um I wanted to ask you something... do you think we could hang out tonight, at your place? Not to intrude or anything!"
"I wouldn't mind, what time?"
"How's seven?"
"Sounds like a plan. Turn here," F went to turn and Blaze just stopped and let them pass. He then caught up with them. "All good?" F asked.
"I thought I saw a wolf or something." Blaze replied.
"There are rumors of a giant living in those woods. One insane guy says he saw him yesterday."
"R-really?" Blaze suddenly looked worried.
"Hey, there's no need to worry. If he ever shows up I'll protect you... if it is real I would probably just pass out, but the courage is there!" F looked at Blaze with a smile. Blaze just laughed at F.
"Passing out was super effective! Well done, you defeated it!" Blaze said between laughs. They both burst out in hysterical laughter at the joke.
The pair arrived at work and Blaze put on his uniform and started working on shelving. F sat back waiting for customers, and they resumed reading their book. There was a nice atmosphere in the building.
The day finished at last and the two chatted while Blaze took off his uniform.
"You should probably bring your uniform home with you, I find it easier." F noted while Blaze folded it.
"Home? Oh yeah... um, I just don't have any space for it" Blaze quietly spoke. F scoffed at this. Blaze smiled awkwardly.
"Let's get going shall we." F stuck their hands in their pockets. Blaze nodded. The two then proceeded to chat while leaving the building.
