FALLING IN LOVE

CHAPTER 26

MINA'S POV

"Careful! Careful!", Chaeyoung kept saying while helping me up the stairs. I fought the urge to roll my eyes at him.

"Chaeyoung, you do know that I can walk by myself, right?".

"So?".

"So, you don't have to treat me like I'm a baby. I was only locked in a damn locker for hours!", I fought to keep my voice even as I spoke.

"Uhmmmm. Could have fooled me", Chaeyoung responded sarcastically.

"Come on. Let's get you in bed".

"Oh fine!", I sighed, leaning into him.

He helped me up the stairs and into my room. After arranging the bed so that I could be comfortable, he helped me get settled in bed.

I observed everything he did with amusement. On settling beside me on the bed, his head to the side.

"What's with the look?".

"Oh nothing. Just that watching you act as fussy as a mother hen is kind of amusing", I said with a smile.

"Well we can't have you being uncomfortable at the state you're in, now can we?", He pointed out.

"Yeah, I guess not", I turned away from him and leaned back into the pillows behind me, closing my eyes as I did.

No words were exchanged between us but I could feel that Chaeyoung was struggling to say something.

I didn't need to look at him to feel it. I wanted to ask what was bothering him but he spoke up before I could.

"Mina, you know, I'm really sorry for all that's happening to you. I'm sorry that you're going through all this", He mumbled.

"Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault, Chaeyoung", I tilted my head to his side.

"It kinda is. The only reason this is happening to you is because of me", He ran his hand through his hair in an act of frustration.

I gently placed my hand on his, causing him to look at me.

"Chaeyoung, I don't blame you for anything. None of this is your fault and this is the last I want to hear of this. Do you hear me?", I stated sternly.

He nodded and I broke into a smile.

"That's much better. So what do you want to do now?".

"Actually, I'd rather we just stay here. If you like", He quickly added.

"Sure. Why not?", I shrugged with a smile.

We proceeded to talk, basically about anything and everything. It didn't really matter. What mattered most to me was just being with him, living in that moment.

As we spoke, I grew drowsy due to the medication I was on and soon found myself nodding off.

Eventually I gave in to my exhaustion and let my head fall to the side. Subconsciously, I smiled and snuggled the warm body beside me. It felt good. It felt like home.

CHAEYOUNG'S POV

It was when Mina's head hit my shoulder that I realized she'd fallen asleep. I managed a glance and felt a smile creep its way to my lips at the sight of her sleeping face.

With her mouth slightly open and a few of her hair  across her face, she looked cuter than ever. So that I wanted nothing more than to reach over and kiss her. I would have if not for the fact that I didn't want to do anything against her consent.
