TIME PASSED AND so did Estella's life. After that day when Benjamín told her to go back to Guadalajara, she decided to do just that. He ensured her protection but no contact was to be made between the two, which broke Estella into pieces. She felt betrayed and confused wondering why he couldn't have just given her a chance to prove that she was going to commit to this relationship and not lie, but now she was back in Guadalajara and felt lonelier than ever.

Estella felt so alone once she returned to her home, despite the beautiful city and people she still felt like an outcast. Although her protection was guaranteed, that didn't protect against judgmental people that knew her past and reputation with Miguel Ángel and the cartel life. When she went out in public all she got were stares and rude side comments and nobody dared to even try and talk to her.

Her family was no different and every time Estella tried calling her parents or her sister, Sofía, nobody seemed to care to answer. Estella knew that she had practically ruined their lives and reputations, but she couldn't believe that her own family didn't care to at least hear how she was doing.

She truly did miss Ana and although the pain was still there, she felt as if she was slowly beginning to heal from the deep wound Miguel had caused her. But she missed her dearly, knowing that if she was here now she wouldn't have left Estella's side no matter what and would've defended her.

Miguel Ángel was the only person she had forgotten. The thought of him made her feel disgusted, and she didn't hear much about him these days, only some rumors here and then, but he was never on her mind anymore. She hated him and for the rest of her life she would hold a grudge against him, and she didn't care.

But one person Estella did miss was Benjamín. His words and their conversations, and how easily he could make her laugh. But she didn't understand why he would send her back when there was clearly something there. It hurt, and she constantly waited for the day when Benjamín would call her and apologize for the mistake he had made, but he never did. And after a while, she had gotten used to the isolation and had come to the realization that Benjamín and her were not going to happen, and she would have to slowly move on even if it hurt.

Estella walked into her small nice apartment after a late night of shopping. Even though Estella felt so alone, she had one thing that made her feel less alone and made her look forward to waking up each morning and that was her pet cat, Molly. She felt as if that was the only thing that kept her going everyday.

"Molly, where are you?" Estella walked in, setting down the shopping bags on the counter nearby. She then spotted Molly gently picking her up and began to pet her. Setting her down, she then made her way to the living room spotting something on the glass table in the middle of the room.
