"Of course I was. That was the day I saw Miguel Ángel with his wife." Estella answered the journalist nodding her head.
"Can you explain more about that? If you can remember." The journalist tapped her pen against her journal. Estella looked down remembering everything like it was yesterday. How could anyone forget when you lived such an adventurous and dangerous life? It was impossible to forget a life like that.
"I remember it all even down to the details of my dress and the extravagant decor for the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding." Estella began. The memories flooded back to her and now it seemed like she had traveled back in time to the exact day of that wedding.
Decades Before
"I don't know Ana. He was a narco and the fact Sofia was being so bold. Oh gosh, that's just not okay." Estella walked along with her best friend Ana. She couldn't stop thinking about the man at the nightclub what if he would come after her and possibly her family. The thought made the little hairs on the back of her neck stand up.
"Was he at least handsome?" Ana chuckled glancing at Estella who shook her head. She disliked how Ana couldn't be serious sometimes. Rafa's looks were the least of her concerns.
"What? Ana, are you even listening to me? This is not okay. I'm anxious you don't know how much power this guy has." Estella crossed her arms staring off into the busy streets. Ana sighed and gently placed her hands on Estella's tense shoulders.
"Mira. Todo está en tu mente." Ana grinned hoping her best friend would relax. Estella nodded her head even though her anxiety hadn't gone away.
"Para cambiar el tema. ¿Vas a la boda?" Ana asked. Estella nodded her head knowing that her parents were forcing her and Sofia to go to a wedding for a man named Rodolfo Sánchez. She didn't know much about the man only that she had to go with Jackson the man her parents had suited her with and try to have a good time.
"Yes, I'm being forced to go with the gringo Jackson. I hate him a lot I wish I could have my life instead of the one my parents want me to have. I'm tired of having to attend these fancy events. Last night at the club it was all fun and normal until that narco came around." Estella sighed thinking about the night.
