ESTELLA WAS DEPRESSED and didn't want to do anything. She rejected Amado and realized that the business offer was pointless, she left the hide-out due to not being able to face Benjamín who was just as heartbroken by the miscarriage as she was.
So, she stayed with Enedina and Alexa for now rotting away in her bed only watching some cartoons with Ramón who tried his best to make his brother's girlfriend feel better.
But nothing could take away the pain she was feeling. She felt lost, wondering if maybe this was all worthless. She loved Benjamín but wondered if their relationship would ever evolve.
"Estella, Benjamín has called you 50 million times throughout this week. Sooner or later, you're going to have to face him, he's just as broken as you are. You guys need to be together in a horrible time like this." Alexa waved the telephone at Estella, who was slumped on the bed as Ramón laughed at a cartoon that was playing.
"Look, babe and Estella, this is the best part." Ramón caught their attention, and the two girls watched the screen and laughed at the part. Estella cracked a smile but remembered what Alexa had said, she didn't want to make Benjamín feel like she was avoiding him even though that was exactly what she was doing.
"I'll answer in a few days. I need rest and time...I can't face him now." Estella teared up, pulling the blankets up to her neck. Alexa sighed looking at her Ramón who shrugged, they were starting to give up on trying. However, Enedina wasn't, she was determined to make her siblings' relationships work.
"Estella...I know you're going through a lot of pain right now, but so is Benjamín. He's been understanding the space you need, but I know he's suffering without you. He wants to go through this as a couple." Enedina rubbed Estella's back, who was silently crying into a pillow. Estella sniffled, realizing she was right, she felt like a shitty person and girlfriend for not being there for him as well.
"Alright, tell him I'll come to see him. But if anyone else calls, I'm unavailable, especially Amado. Tell him I choose Benjamín and Tijuana before any of his foolish business proposals." Estella sat up, looking at the three other people which she acknowledged as family. Enedina subtly smiled, feeling somewhat accomplished.
"You and Benjamín will be fine, Estella. We're all here for you guys, no matter what. A miscarriage is painful, I know it from experience." Alexa whispered as Estella hugged her back, thanking the two girls for their kind words. They were like sisters to her, and she loved them very much and knew Ana would've gotten along very well with them.
