Finally, the moment that Aitri had been waiting for. Her own boss fight. Gods, Rishi had really added some habits in her, with all those weekend hours spent gaming.
Rishi pulled off the iron gate and broke it off. The three walked to the door, which was ajar. Inside was as dark as the rest of Svartalfheim. Rishi signaled them to wait. "Feels like you two might need to find your fylgja." He said.
"How do we do that?" Rick asked.
"Focus on yourself. You are the only one who can find your own fylgja. Concentrate on your characteristics, specifically on what make you you." Rishi said, "Like Aitri's bridging qualities, the way she controls a tricky situation, her standing for herself."
"What?" Aitri was surprised, though she did know how she could actually pacify two fighting people. She had done this countless times when her parents had been fighting. She could actually calm people down. "It is true." Rick agreed, "She has even calmed us down whenever we have quarreled."
"I know, right?" Rishi said, "She has a certain power in her voice."
"It is as if she is like a bridge, right boss?" Rick asked.
"Oh no, she's the boss." Rishi said, pointing to Aitri, "I just know everything, and teach you everything, and make everyone look cooler."
"Anyway, Iron Man," Rick said, "Can we go in?"
"What about your fylgja?"
"I'll find myself. I think I know exactly what I am."
Aitri focused on her characteristics, as the three entered. Everything was dark around. As Rishi's eyes glowed again, Aitri tried her best to find her own spirit animal from inside herself.
And suddenly, a powerful voice spoke calmly in the dark, echoing around the house. "Come, come, divine champions. You have arrived to meet your fates. Good luck finding me in the dark." Thiazi seemed to have no problem seeing in the dark. Meanwhile, Aitri was lost. "If you can't see," Rishi said, "keep hearing. He is a shape shifter. He can take any form that can see in the night. You have to find your fylgja, and attack him. Till then, sense where he is coming from, or who he's coming for, and defend yourself." Rishi seemed very much experienced, given he had had had one and a half year training, along with that special training from Thor himself a month after VC. Add to that the knowledge he had about this world. No wonder he was their true leader.
Aitri focused on the sounds, her concentration fully on staying alive. However, before focusing, she silently prayed to her patron, "Lady Sif, Lord Njord, please help me finding the inner spirit of mine. Please help me find my fylgja."
And suddenly, she heard the vigorous flapping of wings, and before she could move, some sharp things that she couldn't see in the dark scratched her face. Her face burned, making her wince in pain. She touched her face and felt blood. She managed to pick her head up, only to see the same bird-Thiazi attack Rick, who seemed to react much quicker than Aitri, flicked his fingers, and telekinetically pushed him away. As he flew towards the lesser dark area in front of the door, Aitri figured that he was still in his eagle form. He quickly attacked Rishi, but only got caught by the wings, and got slammed on the ground. He got up quickly, and once again, disappeared on the ground. "How can you see me, boy?" He asked.
"I'm talented." Rishi replied.
As they readied themselves for the next attack, Aitri once again faced the first onslaught. This time something much bigger came at her. She tried to push it away, but it was too strong for her. It hit its pointy thing on her hands to move them away, and missed her whole body, thanks to which, she was still alive. "Felt like a rhinoceros." Aitri said. Thiazi attacked Rick in a different form this time, only for Rick light his hand up and blind him for a second. "Aah!" Thiazi jumped back into the dark, "Too sudden." He was in the form of a mountain lion.
