The transport on Hymir's car was a little too extravagant. It was so fast, Aitri nearly threw up. Twice. Though it was only half an hour, that rapid speed was as disgusting as anything. That was followed by a wonderful lift from Mr. Octopus, who threw them right back on Samar Dwip. Now, to deliver the treasure to Andvari, and get to the key.
As soon as they stepped foot inside the house, Andvari came running out of the broken room, crying, "My treasure, my precious treasure." He came, his arms spread. However, Aitri calmly walked inside, and so did Rick. Then, she threw Andvari the bag and said, "Here is your treasure. Now, where is the key to Bifrost?"
Andvari literally jumped on the bag, and put his hand inside, as if a kid had been returned his favourite toy. He pulled out the gold coins, played with it. On the way, Rick was asking Aitri about Hymir's finger, "Do you think Andvari would notice?"
"Nah." Aitri had asked, "We will put it under all the gems." Now, however, Aitri was not sure, the way Andvari was pulling his stuff out of the bag.
And so just like that, the ring came out, and out with it, came the finger. "Hahaha-aaaaahhhh!" Andvari cried, dropping the finger, "What in the name of Helheim is it?"
"Your ring."
"You two petty little useless prats, you ruined my treasure."
"It is just a finger. The ring didn't come out, so we had to cut it off. Try cutting it out now, now that you have so much time." Rick said, in reply, firmly.
"Shut up!" Andvari threw everything away, and pulled out a knife. "You two are dead." He cried, and was about to attack them when the main entrance door behind him opened, and two very brutish Vikings entered.
Now, they were big guys. They were nearly seven feet tall. One had a big sword in his hand, that was rectangular in shape, though sharp, but not pointy. Though it looked heavy as Hel, it didn't seem like it for the guy. His hands were full of tattoos, he was super muscular, wore a tight green T-shirt and tight black pants, and two wrist bands on his wrists. His eyes were blue and his facial texture very familiar. His blonde hair was cut from the sides, and tied into a ponytail behind him. He clearly had an aura of a fitness freak, kinda like guys who spend a lot of time in the gym. The other one beside looked nearly very similar to him. Tattooed arms, brutishly muscular body, blue eyes, facial features very familiar. However, his hair was red, and had long typical Viking braids, and he wore a headband on his head (Rafael Nadal style). He wore sleeveless white T-shirt, and same black tight pants. He had big metal gauntlets on his hands, which he was striking against each other like boxing gloves. None of the two guys had beard on them. They both looked in their early twenties. They entered in a way as if they owned this place. Andvari jumped on his position. Aitri, though fazed by the muscles at first, felt intimidated. She looked beside, only to find Rick, trying to stand his ground. "What's this new problem?" She asked him.
"Don't know. But these two kinda look familiar." He replied.
"I know right?"
The two guys walked up to Andvari, and the one with the gauntlets picked him up, and asked, "What up, little mad packet?" and hung him by his clothes from a hook up there. Then, he turned to them and said, "What up, pendejos?"
"Sorry?" Rick asked, weirded out.
"You have to excuse my brother." The other guy chapped in, "He is kinda excited to see you two. He speaks Spanish when he is excited. Ever since you guys were selected, we had been longing to meet you guys. Shame Saptarishi isn't here. We are big fans of his."
"Excuse me, who are you two?" Rick asked, tilting his head.
"Oh, sorry." The first guy overcame his smiley and said, "Where are our manners that Mom taught us? We are Magni and Modi, sons of Thor, we are the baby gods."
"That is where you guys looked familiar." Aitri finally got it, "You two look very much like him. But, baby gods?"
"We are the youngest two of all the gods, so they call us the baby gods. We like it. Anyway," Magni turned towards Andvari, "Take your bag of treasure and leave, and leave the ring. Or I'll turn you into a fish and you won't be able to change back."
"I demand you put me down, you overgrown moron." Andvari said, "My house, my treasure, my ring..."
"My hand, my punch, your face." Magni said, looking violently eye to eye.
Andvari jumped off, landed, picked up his bag full of treasure, ran out of the house, turned himself into some kind of a fish, and dived into the water. "Good riddance, brother." Magni said, "Now?"
"We eat." Modi took out a bag full of cup noodles in thin air, "Come on, guys. You guys haven't eaten all day. It is not much of a feast that we normally enjoy, but gotta do."
Aitri wouldn't lie, the cup noodles tasted amazing, given she was so hungry. Rick nearly inhaled his food. Since they had last eaten a meal, they had travelled to Kolkata, to London and York and back. They both needed it before their adventure to Asgard. "How do you think this turns out as a beach house in Midgard?" Modi asked.
"Got a lot of work to do then. Full renovation needed." Magni said, "Hey, Ritabrata, aren't you into constructions?"
"I am."
"Could you send a few people to work and renovate this place?"
"Aren't you two gods?" Rick asked.
"We are, but we wanna give you the chance."
"Fine, but you gotta pay. No favors being done."
"Hahaha, funny." Magni laughed, then he changed his looks and said, "Oh, you ain't kidding. Okay, fine. You'll be paid."
"Hah!" Modi laughed, "See why Andvari called you a moron, brother?"
"He was right, though, hermano." Magni laughed, "Hey, listen, the key to the Bifrost is back there." He pointed towards a room whose door was locked behind them. The two champions finished eating and left for the room. Magni broke the lock for them.
Inside was a device, not that big though. It was as if a big tree branch had driven itself through the ground. However, it was not a real tree branch. It was made of some sort of crystal. On it was a large metallic gate with runes marked on it. And in front of the gate was a big lever. "The gate looks very similar to that one in the Temple of Edda from Iceland." Rick said, "The one we had gone through."
"The day we had the Norsemen etched in our lives forever?"
"Yeah." Rick said, "Come on, give me a hand with the lever." Rick and Aitri pushed the lever with all their might, and the gate opened slowly. They looked outside through the door, only to find thin air, amidst a cloud full of sky. "It is one of those interdimensional doors. Now, unless we can walk on air..." Rick said.
"Shouldn't there be a rainbow?" Aitri asked.
And just then, the sky above them opened up, and out came a rainbow, curling its way through the clouds and got itself attached to the gate. "Gods, I never thought I will see this." Aitri said. She had only seen rainbows moving in cartoons as a kid (or till now). Rick nodded in agreement. As they put their steps on the Bifrost, it turned into an escalator, which started to move upward. Aitri turned back to see the gate, which was still open, and Magni and Modi waved them goodbye with the most excited of faces.
"Talk about a Stairway to heaven." Rick said. Aitri laughed. Rick had caught on it.
"Led Zeppelin?" She asked.
"Oh, yeah. Even their songs were based on Vikings."
"The relationship is uncanny."
"Would you like to sing?" Rick asked, "I don't know how long this is gonna take, given the speed."
"I'll try."
They spent the next few minutes singing the song a few times, and correcting their lyrics. And then, they reached the end of the Bifrost Bridge. They stepped out of the escalator, and stood in front of very similar gate, however, ten times bigger. This one also had runes, perhaps all of them that existed. The gate was slightly ajar, and standing by it was one Hel of a man.
