Fawn sat down at the grand table in the open space. She folded her hands and leaned in as if prepared for business. Her dads, deep in conversation, looked over at her. Jimmy gulped.

     "Hey, minnow," he said.

"Here for your piece of knowledge?" Scott asked, almost afraid of what she hadn't even asked for yet. Fawn nodded stiffly.

"Yes I am." They all sat there in silence for a moment.

"How did I get here?" Fawn asked abruptly. Jimmy was taken aback while Scott continued to stare at the table.

"She was going to ask at some point, wasn't she?" He said to Jimmy.

"We're gonna want to sit down for this..."

     "Dad, we are sitting down."

     "Right! Right!"

..:^:..

An elf with lime green hair, dark skin and vibrant blue eyes hopped along the paths on a mission.

"King Scott!" She cried. As she entered the great hall. Scott turned to the villager. The villager smiled, eager to share her message. "The markings have glown! Aeor left you a note in the church!" Scott nodded.

"Thank you for telling me." He ran to get Jimmy and the two went to the church to see what was happening. Placed delicately on a lectern was a glowing book. Scott opened it.

     'My champion,

I fear that worlds may be crossing some time soon. The other spirits have gifted their empires something and it's my turn too. I've left someone for you in the stag's cave. Take care of her and trust in her for she may fix past worlds that were broken.'

Scott looked over the note again.

"The stags cave. Someone's there. We should go see who," he explained to Jimmy.

"Alright!" Jimmy responded. They made the venture to the cave and entered. The stag carefully guarded something. Scott frowned. There was not a person in sight. The stag stamped it's hoof. He peered behind it. Jimmy seemed to notice it too. Jimmy carefully walked behind the  stag, Scott following. There was a child. A baby. Her ears were tall and pointed. She was an elf. Tiny freckles dotted her nose. The child cocked her head at Jimmy and Scott.

"Dadda?" Came her sweet little voice as she groped around the air with her small hands. Jimmy looked back at Scott. Scott looked at the stag. The stag bowed its head as if nodding.

"She's ours. She's the new Rivendell Princess..." Scott told Jimmy. They looked at the child once again. She stared back, her expression saying 'what, you never seen a baby elf princess before?' sass implied in the look. Jimmy carefully picked her up, being the closer one. They studied the child's face.

"She looks like a baby deer..." Jimmy mumbled.

"Fawn. We'll call her Fawn," Scott decided. A toothless grin spread across the child's face as she played around with the purple and blue ombré onesie she was clothed in.

Years passed, the child grew older. She had cyan hair that faded to blonde, the locks that framed her face identical to her tips. Her hair was natural. She was an elf. Other children loved her and she made friends with children in every empire. She was very outgoing. As she grew up, the rulers became her family and she called them aunts and uncles, even though they weren't related. Aeor was satisfied with how the child had grown and hoped she would be able to handle the trouble to come.

Fawn blinked, staring at the table.

"I asked for knowledge, not some made up story," she said.

"It's not," Scott looked dead serious, as did the Codfather. Fawn turned pale.

"Mm-mm. I'm not a child sent from Aeor, for cod's sake.  I'm not that special," She glared at the floor. "This was a terrible question. Forget I asked. I'm going to the Festival." She got up and left, just like that.

She had the wondering and she knew she didn't want the answer. Fawn passed the first few stalls, holding beetroot, carrot, tomatoes, potato and sugar sticks. Fawn stopped at the stall with sugar sticks.

"One sugar stick please," she asked absentmindedly, still thinking.

"Of course, dear," the woman in the stall said, bowing her head. She had long blonde hair that fell over her shoulders and went down to her lower back. Fawn continued to think, the sugar stick interrupting her thoughts. Sugar sticks were made of sugarcane, blueberries and surprisingly, brown mushrooms. They were sweet and long. You could suck on them and the tasted like plain sugar. She dropped some gold and diamonds onto the counter. The woman thanked her and she continued walking. Fawn couldn't help but think that she was still related to her dads. Where did the hair come from? Where did the ice magic come from? She decided to head over to the enchanting tower. Maybe something in there could distract her. She made her way to the bridge.

Fawn stopped at the edge of the bridge before walking up the path to the tower. Her mind drifted away. She blinked. Red. Everything was on fire. She blinked again. Normal, beautiful Rivendell, right in front of her once more. A third blink and it was back to the red mayhem. She looked around, afraid if she blinked it would go away. Fawn's heart lurched. It was Rivendell. She noticed a huge dome like shape above her. A black figure and someone else. A flash of cyan. She blinked and it was gone. Fawn blinked again, trying to see what that was. Nothing happened. She stayed in her normal world. She snapped out of her trance, startled by three or so villagers by her side.

"Princess, are you ok?" One asked. Another was kneeling by her side.

"Why, yes...I was just taking a walk..." Fawn replied with haste.

"You weren't responding when we spoke and we became worried," a timid looking elf commented. Adding to her building crowd, a villager ran to them, out of breath. Closely following behind was Jimmy. The villager by her side stood and Jimmy took their place.

"What's up?" He asked, looking seriously concerned. Fawns eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"I'm fine...just a little zone out..." she explained.

"No, Princess. This one was different. You were looking around, as if watching something," the first elf to speak informed her. Fawn opened her mouth to say something but then closed it, at a loss for words.

"Wha....what?" Fawn became panic stricken. What if she was beginning to hallucinate? Or even be falling asleep standing and dreaming for that matter! Jimmy stood up and grabbed her hand.

"Come on. Scott needs to know about this," he declared.

"Oh-ok," Fawn replied lightly as the villagers cleared a path for them. Her head spun around as she was pulled off. A black figure's gleam caught her eye. Dark horns twisted off it's head. Fawn screamed, recognizing the demon from the night before. Jimmy and the villagers turned to look at what she saw. They saw the demon too before it disappeared into thin air.

     "What was that?!"

"So I'm not the only one who sees it."

"How did he get here?" Scott's voice came from behind them. His expression told Fawn all she needed to know, and that story about her being a gift from Aeor became more and more believable by the second.

OKAY! How do we tie off this chapter? I don't know but I'm hoping it's enjoyable! I got a comment on the last chapter and it made my day since I thought this would be as relevant as a blade of grass. I've had some tough times lately and so it made me really happy! Please, if you want to take the time, comment your thoughts, I love them!
