“Kya..?”. I asked looking at him with wide eyes
Dead..? How is it possible..? I saw her. What the hell is happening..?
“Mar gye”. I whispered looking at the kitchen as Manik get closer to me
“Jaan I am sorry”. He said softly lifting me up & putting me on the counter standing in between my legs
I didn't even react. I couldn't move what on earth is happening..? What happened to my mother..? What about Sahil, her husband..?
“Jaan”. I felt his hand on my waist & the other one on my cheek. “Tum bohot pale lg rhi ho. Look at me”
Mom. Where are u..? I am sure it wasn't a dream. I know she was here. I didn't imagine it. She was in my house & we talk. How can he tell me she's dead..?
“Ye nhi ho sakta”. I whispered more yo myself than to Manik. “She can't be”. I whispered again
I suddenly fell Manik pivking me up in a bridal style & walk
He walked upstairs & toward my room. He open the door & walk in putting me in the bed. He pit his fingers under my chin & made me look at him
“Nandu..?”. He said my name softly & I just look at the bed. “Kuch aise bat hai jo tumhe mujhe bolna hai”. He asked & I glanced at him before looking at my fingers “Nandini”. He called again
“Tum kya chahte ho k m tumhe kya bolu”. I asked softly look at the sheets
My mom was in this house days ago
“Mene tumhe jab bataya tab tum shocked ya sad nhi dekhi”. He said. “Balki confused lag rhe thi”. He asked confused & my heart start beating fast. “To m wapas bol rha hu tumne mujhe kuch bolna hai”. He asked again
I forget how good he was. He could read anyone like an open book. Another scary thing about him
“Nhi kuch nhi hua..? M kyu sad rhungi..? M kyu unki care kru..? Unhone mujhe ghar se bhar nikal diya tha or unhone kaha k aabse m unhe beti nhi hu”. I said looking down He just look at intently. Can't he stop doing that..?
“To tum worried kyu dekh rhe thi..?”. He asked & my heart start beating faster. I shrugged. “Tum kya bothered kr rha hai, to tum mujhe bol sakti ho”. He said taking my hand in his. “Tumhe pata haina tum mujhse kuch bhi bol sakti ho”
“Mujhe pata hai pr m tumse kuch nhi chupa rhi hu”. I sighed still looking down
“Tum mujh pr trust krti ho..?”. He asked putting his fingers under my chin & making me look at him
“Ofcourse”. I said & he nodded
“To m tum wahi same question karta hu kya tumne recently aapni mumma k bare m kuch suna hai kya”. He asked & I grip my robe tighter so he couldn't see my shaky hands
“Tu.. Tum kya bol rhe ho..? Tumhe ne to kaha vo mar gye hai". I said trying to keep my voice steady
“Nandu look at me”. He demand & I look at him. “Ab mujhe jawab do”. He said looking into my eyes
“You're being ridiculous”. I sighed standing up. “Ofcourse not”
“Nan-”
“Mumma”. Manav said loudly walking in my room. “M chahta hu aap mujhe bath kra de”. He said taking my hand & pulling me to the door
“Navya se lelo..?”
“I don't want her. I want u”. He pout & I smile picking him up
“Alright lets go”. I quickly said
That way I won't have to answer any more of Manik's questions

After taking a bath, he quickly start watching Shinchan
“Mumma”. He call standing up. “Mujhe cookies chahiye”. He pout & I smile walk to the kitchen. “Mujhe bara pavk chahiye”. He said following close behind. I took a pack of cookies & gave it to him. He quickly take it & run out of the kitchen
“Nandu”. I jump & look at Manik who was leaning against the door frame. “Mujhe jana hoga”. He said wrapping his arm around my waist. “Kal ka dinner mat bhulna”. He smirk & I roll my eyes
“Mene haa nhi kaha”. I argued
He shrugged before kissing my cheek & turn to leave. I let out a sigh. My phone start ringing & I took it from the counter & answer without looking
“hello”
“Nandini”. I heard my mom's voice on the other line
“Amma”. I whispered. “Kya hua hai..? Manik bol rha tha aap mar gye hai, aap kya kr rhi hai”
“Calm down beta, m tumhe sab samjaungi time aane pr”
“Pr Amma-”
“tumhe mere bare m Manik ko batya to nhi na”. She asked panic evident in her voice. “Nhi mene aapko promise kiya tha na pr vo mujhse sawal kr rha tha aap to janti hai vo kaisa hai”. I sighed. “Mujhe pata tha bs aise he rkhna”. She said. “Mujhe jana hai beta bye”. “Nhi mom mujhe pata krna hai”. I said quickly “m tumhe call krungi bohot zyada jaise mujhe moka milega I love u bacha & be careful”. She said before quickly hang up
I sighed & I look at my phone looking got the no. But it was private. Amma what going on..?
