Jesse Lingard- Why isn't my love enough Pt2

2 years ago you left the person who you thought would be your husband, the father to your kids and your best friend. These 2 years haven't been easy it was hard adapting to a life without Jesse. Jesse seemed to adapt quickly as him and his new partner 10 months after the breakup welcomed their new baby girl Hope. It was like a stab in the back because it took him a month a month to move on and fuck someone else. It took a month to get over his fiancée and his partner of 7 years.

You on the other hand spent that time reflecting on everything that went wrong. Looked after yourself fixed what Jesse broke. You had just opened your dream business that was successful and it was only 6 months in. Everything seemed to fall into place for you now. The smile Jesse took now began coming back.

It was celebration party of your business signing a new contact with a top marketing firm; you had invited a few of Jesse friends including Marcus because you had inseparable bond with them and while it didn't work out that didn't mean you had to loose friendships as well. What you didn't expect was Jesse to turn up.

"Jesse what are you doing here?" you said shocked to see him here of all places

"Nice to see you too y/n" Jesse laughed

"Sorry I didn't mean to be rude but you just surprised me"

"It's coo,l no I came with Marcus"

"Oh I wondered how you would of got in here it was strictly invite only" you laughed nervously

"Honestly time is weird 2 years ago I would of been the first person to have been invited and now I aren't even on the list."

"Wasn't like you came anyway" you awkwardly laughed

"True I made so many mistakes back then but I am so proud of you y/n you have accomplished your dreams. Remember when we was only seeing each other for a few weeks really early days and you said it was only a dream and never would be a reality. Look at you know it's your reality. You did it"

"Thankyou jess" you smiled

"come here" Jesse said throwing his arms around you

"I really am sorry y/n for everything I did I really did love you"

"It's ok"

"Can we still be friends I miss not having you in my life" Jesse asked

"I would like that, are you sure your girlfriend won't mind?"

"No she knows you was my best friend before everything. And I would like you to meet Hope she is amazing"

"Sounds like a plan"

While this might not be the happy ending everyone imagined for y/n and Jesse it was the one that was best because they were best friends not lovers. It was better to be friends and be in each other's life than to risk not being in each other's life again.
