Unexpected Fate

Chapter 7

Almost arriving, I can see a police car park in our parking lot. I and Xavier look at each other.

"You know why the police are here?" – Xavier asks me.

"No I don't." – I shake my head.

"Let's see what the matter is." –Xavier said and I nodded my head. We quickly parked his car at the parking lot, got out of it and walked towards the front door.

My house is 2 stories, has 4 bedrooms, 1 kitchen, 4 bathrooms and a big living room. Not so big but not small either. My dad and mom didn't want to spend so much money to live in a mansion. So they brought this house, which gives us a homely vibe.

After entering the house we see there are 3 policemen, sitting on our green velvet sofa, which is placed at the right side of the living room.

That's a corner for stranger or any professional kind of people, who came to our house for business purposes. It's kind of dad's outer study which we are all allowed to use. But his main study is underground in this building which we couldn't use, because he does not want to get disturbed.

We walk towards them. My father and mother sat opposite of them on a small blush pink couch. They are discussing something and the look they have on their face that made me worried more. I look over to Xavier to see he has a worried look on his face also.

When they saw us the police officers stood up shook hands with mom-dad then left.

"What happened dad? Why was the police here?" – I asked him after sitting on the green sofa.

Dad sighs and says - "Sit down Raya. You too Xavier. I have already informed Xavier's parents and Ryan. They will arrive in less than 10 minutes. Then I'll tell you what all this is."

"But Mr. Stones we can clearly see that there is something going on. Please tell us we are worried" – Xavier said in a serious expression.

"Just wait few----"

"What happened mom dad?"

"Ray is you alright?"

"Rena what happened?"

My mother was cut off by 3 voices. We turned around and saw Xavier's parents and Ryan came with Jena who also had a worried look.

"Please sit down. So I can explain." –dad said.

Ryan and I made eye contact and he understands that I need him. So he sat down on the left side of me and then next to him sat Jena. Jena's parents sat too on the blush pink couch, which is the place opposite where mom-dad sits.

"Tell us Ray. We are getting worried" – Mrs. Knight insists.

Dad looked at mom. Mom nodded her head then both of them looked at me. Dad takes a deep breath and began-

"I don't know how to tell that but the truth is you are not our biological daughter Raya."
