Unexpected Fate

Chapter 12

At that exact time, Ryan and Xav walk into the house together. They pause for a few minutes after seeing me. Then Ryan ran to me tailing by Xav.

"Princess, are you all right? How are you feeling? Are you hurt? You don't have to worry about anything I'm here for you, I'll protect you. Okay?" – He rambled while hugging me tightly which made me smile.

"I'm fine brother. Look I'm smiling." – I said after pulling away from the hug and giving him a genuine smile. 

"thank god. you are okay. I was so worried you know." then he give me a kiss on my forehead.

"Cupcake?" – Xav asked for me and I go to him and hugged him.

"Are you really alright? Tell me the truth." – He whispers in my ears. I feel a shiver run through my spine. Our closeness is affecting me and I don't know what is it.

I pull away immediately and shake my head in 'no'. He noticed my sudden action but didn't say anything.

"Xavier we told her about the arrangement. And we think you both should talk about this and make a decision. We don't have much time." – Mrs. Knight said to Xav politely.

Xav just nods his head towards her and I look down at my feet. Then I feel he hold my hand to drag me from them towards our terrace and told them behind his shoulder - "I'll talk about that later but now we have something else to discuss. We will be down in a bit"

We reach on the terrace and sat on the swing, which is placed on the right side in silence. We have some plants around it, which gives a natural vibe, and it's helping me to calm all the thoughts, which is gathering in my mind.

I look up in the sky and start to speaks my thoughts – "I couldn't believe that, with those people I live with seventeen years of my life, they are not my own parents, my twin brother to whom I love the most, he is not my own brother? I was very happy a few hours ago and now my life got totally changed within just a few hours? I didn't know where my real parents are, how are they look, what they do in their life to live, most probably how they cooperate with this situation about seventeen years ago? On top of that, I have to marry because I could get kidnapped and forced to marry someone whom I didn't even know about. I don't know what to do Xav; these are too much to take." I sigh.

"I don't know what do or think either but one thing is I know that you have me, you have us. And we are standing beside you for the rest of life. And about the marriage thing, you don't have to marry anyone whom you don't know. Because you know me and I think it would be best if we get married." – Xav said and I'm surprised to hear that.

"No Xav. I'm not marrying you. You know I want to marry someone whom I loved but in this situation, I can't do that. But I can't marry you either because your life could be in danger after married to me. You have your life, your passion, your dream to fulfill. I don't want you to scarify all of that because of me. Today you were so hurt because you couldn't have Rory, and now you want to marry me because this shit happened. I don't want you to do this to yourself. If I have to marry then I would be married to someone else but not you." – I said to him very serious manner.

"You don't have to worry about it, I'm fully capable to protect myself. You should think about the situation you are in. and this is also our concern as yours. And about Rory, you know very much well that there is nothing going to be happening between us. So don't think about it either. And today also we share a moment twice if you have forgotten that already. So, Just think about yourself and your real parents. Because they had been sacrificed the most in this matter. They have to give their first child to others, just to protect her. So I request you to think about this again peacefully then decide. Just think about yourself, not others."

"ar.. are you willing to marry me because we both kissed? are you feel that we should get married for the moment we have shared?" – I asked him quietly.

"I don't know if I ready to marry you because of the kiss or not but I am just wanted to protect you. I just wanted my best friend should be safe and happy. And I am willing to do anything for that. Just think about it rationally" – Xavier said with determination.

After listing to him, I realized, he is right. I have to think rationally. I nod my head to agree that I would think about it again. And he plants a kiss on my forehead.
