chapter nine

Kenma did the dinner with a little disturbance from a certain orange headed boy.

While chopping some spring onions which he got it from his neighbor's garden, Hinata squeezed his way through kenma's arms and stood in the middle between the older male and the counter while tickling Kenma's chin with his ears.

"What's this?" Hinata asked, touching the vegetable lightly.

"Spring onions, I'm going to use it as a garnish.".

The cat boy nod his head and looked up, "Am I bothering you?" as the smaller male pouts lightly. Kenma soften his eyes upon looking at Hinata and answered, "No you're not. But it would be better if you go sit at the dinning table while I finish up the food."

Following kenma's request, Hinata gets out from the warm embrace and sits quietly at the dinning table. Swinging his legs while waiting for dinner to be served.

"Hinata, I'm going out with one of my seniors this Saturday to get some materials so I won't be at home in the afternoon." Kenma said while he scoops some steamed egg for the smaller male.

"What? You're leaving me alone again..?" Hinata stared at kenma in disbelief, ears flopping down upon hearing the news.

Kenma paused what he was doing and looked at the boy, feeling slightly guilty.

"Sorry hinata, but I really need to go and get those materials."

The cat boy did not felt any anger just because kenma is going to leave him alone again, but more of uselessness because he is not able to go out freely and accompany kenma.

"Mmkay... But come home as quickly as you can okay?"

"I will."

Saturday morning came by really quickly and Hinata poured all his nine cat lives into clinging onto kenma.

"Good morning kenma!" Hinata chirped, hugging the male tightly as kenma rubs his eyes to adjust to the room's lighting.

"Morning Hinata.." hugging the male lightly.

Kenma stayed at the same position for a few minutes thinking that the cat boy is going to let him go and prepare himself but sadly, no.

"Erm...hinata?"

"Yea?" Hinata replied, continue to burry his head into kenma's embrace.

"I need to go and get ready for the trip later... So let me go?" Kenma carefully phrase his sentences so that the smaller boy does not feel bad.

"Hm...okay then." Hinata lets Kenma go, still maintaining the good mood which Kenma sigh in relief.

"You know I'm still coming back home right?" Kenma said while gently rubs hinata's ears. "I know."

"Are cats always this clingy?" Kenma questioned, because this ginger headed boy has been extremely clingy. But it is not like Kenma dislike it or anything, he is just worried that Hinata lacks independence and this might be a problem for the long run.

"Only if they feel comfortable." Hinata replied.

"It's time for me to go.." Kenma hesitantly said, hugging the boy tighter.

It was silent but after a few seconds, Hinata gets up, "Alright, byebye kenma! See you later during the day!"

Kenma sigh as he also gets up, patting the boy on the head. "Mhm, see you later."
