Oh he was very, very wrong. Once the group of elf children arrived, they seemed hyper and out of control, oh this wouldn't be fun.
Luckily for Azriel, he had always dreamed of a big family, children of his own and all, so naturally he was good with kids. It took him a mere five minutes with Legolas' help to get the children to calm down. He would deeply thank legolas for that later.
Beginning the lesson, he gave each child their bows and made sure they remembered last lesson, marching between each one and correcting any mistakes like a stubborn mother before he was satisfied, urging the kids to follow him orderly after that, again, sounding like a mom, which earned a laugh from legolas which he shyly ignored.
The outer forests of Rivendel were nothing short of gorgeous, the tall trees let their leaves rustle and let some fall in the wind, coating the forest floor in small patches of varied green, a pretty sight if you were to truly appreciate nature. Tulips were a common flower, and each one was more beautiful than the last, their petals were like silk to the touch and the scent they gave off was even more heavenly. No wonder Azriel felt so at peace in the woods.
At last, they stopped in a clearing, targets strung up and carved on trees, a makeshift but perfect archery range, great for teaching the children to aim better.
"Now-"
Their peace was much short lived when a disgusting growl cut Azriel off and some projectile shot right passed his head, only missing his forehead by centimetres.
Orcs. Uruk-hai to be precise.
He had never heard so many children scream at once, but Azriel was not deterred, it was selfish to admit that his first thought was about how proud Thranduil would be If he killed these orcs, or brought one to him hostage even!
Thankfully there was only two, and he didnt waste any time raising his custom hand crafted bow and firing a poison tip arrow directly into the biggest orcs forehead, which went right through it and killed it instantly, impaling its ugly face.
"Legolas, take the children back and protect them, ill
Handle this." He called out, gaining a nod from the prince who gathered each child and rushed them to safety, leaving Azriel with the final Uruk-hai. "Stupid elf!-" it spat disgustingly, receiving an arrow to the shoulder for it.
"Learn to watch your mouth, filthy orc. I would've skewered you too by now, but I have better plans for you."
Azriel hissed, firing a bow at its knee to disorientate it before he entangled it in some hanging tree vines while it was confused and wounded, officially capturing it. He sliced off its arms for good measure, panting and putting his bow back on his back.

"You'll be going to meet the king. Consider yourself one lucky orc."
