(Wattpad is acting dumb and not allowing me to put pictures for this chapter for some reason and I don't understand why.)

It's been a week since Sherry reunited with Jake, Chris, and Claire the first time, but a day since she's seen all of them and Leon.

Jake comes out of the bathroom having taken a shower drying himself with the towel as he was sporting grey sweats and no shirt, he was about to leave the living room but he looks over at Sherry seeing her doing something on her laptop so he goes over to her subtly looking over her shoulder to see what she's looking at and he sees research for lost family members.

He takes a closer look as he puts his arms around her waist hearing a small gasp from her before she smiles up at him going back to her research and he sees that it's an ancestry chart and he feels sympathy but also confused.

Who was she doing this ancestry for? And why was she doing it?

"Sherry, what are you doing?" He asked softly while watching her type away and he can feel how important this is to her.

"I'm.. doing ancestry, believe it or not I really didn't know too much about my own parents at all because even though they were married and had me.. they weren't married to each other, they were married to their work and I barely mattered to them until it was convenient.. They always told me that they'd never hurt me and then my own father.. hurt me, and my mother was gonna leave me to die.. she said it was better that way. I was no older than eight.. Claire.. came to my rescue, she protected me, and she saved my life with the cure.. she became the closest thing I've ever had to a mom.. but I just wanted to see if maybe.." She trails off with a solemn sigh and Jake kissed her cheek softly understanding where she was going with this.

"You want to see if maybe you have family from either side that you never knew about? I am fully supportive on this." Jake says softly earning him a smile from Sherry who was relieved he was supportive with this, others would've told her to give up but Jake understood because they both were essentially orphans now.

"Why don't you ask that mystery lady for help? After all, there must've been a reason she saved you back in China Sherry." Jake says and Sherry furrows her eyebrows confused at first.

"Mystery lady..?" She asks looking over at Jake who sits in the chair next to her seeing the confusion etched all over her face and he smiles softly looking at her.

"Yeah, the woman in the red shirt and high heels. She dropped you into my arms when that chainsaw monster separated us.. she saved both of us actually, and maybe there's a reason for it.. if there is you can ask her what she knows about your parents." He explains and Sherry looked over at him both intrigued and surprised, turning to face him in her chair.

"How do you know that it was a woman who saved us..?" She asked looking at him and he is rather endeared by her puppy-like curiosity right now.

"She told me herself." Jake says which further confuses Sherry before she thinks about it, she only knows two people who are known for red/pink and it wasn't Claire because Claire wasn't around them in China, so she realizes that it had to be Ada.

"Ada.. you saw Ada..? When was this and why didn't you tell me?" Sherry asked as she looked at him, Jake smiles shaking his head as he held her hand giving it a gentle caress.

"I can assure you it wasn't something to hide from you, I just forgot with us chatting with Claire and them but I did want to tell you earlier." He says feeling the silent need to reassure her, even though she hadn't made it obvious he could tell she was curious as to why he hadn't mentioned anything earlier to her.

"Okay.. so this was before we saw each other right..?" She asks and Jake nods his head at her noticing her tightened grip on his hand so he tugged her off of her chair so that she fell into his arms, straddling his lap being face to face and pretty much chest to chest which caused her cheeks to flush a dark red in contrast to her soft white skin tone.
