The Uber dropped Sherry and Jake off in front of Sherry's apartment and Jake took a moment to admire how she's been living "Wow, the snow has picked up like crazy. Let's get you inside Sherry." He says as he walked her inside to get out of the snow, Sherry and him enter the hallway and he admires the way it feels so homey inside. There are portraits on the wall from her and what he assumed were her parents, and then he saw pictures of her with that Simmons guy and others with her, Claire, and Leon. However, he didn't see any pictures of her with Chris so he furrowed his eyebrows as he helped her out of her jacket hanging it up on the hook by the front door taking his boots off so he didn't track snow around her house. Sherry thanked him going into the living room turning on the television blowing on her hands earning his attention "Cold? let me.." He says going over to her taking her hands in his as he blows on her hands cocooning them in his own hands warming them, Sherry's eyes meet his and he smiles warming her hands. "Thanks." She says softly with a soft smile, the eye contact carries on for longer than expected so Jake coughs to clear the tension gently letting go of her hands once he'd successfully warmed them "Of course Sherry." He responds back looking at the coffee desk and the nice table in the dining area, he turns to look at Sherry who was looking at the Tv which was broadcasting the news currently and she turned the volume up with her remote to see what it had to say.
"Let me make us some hot chocolate." She offers heading over to the kitchen, Jake grabs her hand causing her to turn around. "No no let me, I insist." He says going over to the kitchen to start making the hot chocolates for them, Sherry isn't able to fight the smile that spreads on her lips as she watches the news to see what is has to say. "... Have fun on this Christmas break everyone. Oh, This just in, the heavy snow has created a few incidents of cars sliding off the road and the transportation buses and cars are temporarily closed until further notice. The snow storm is upon us so we urge everyone to take shelter and not come out until the storm has calmed down or passed, this is your weather advisor Lee Goodman." Sherry looks over at Jake with a look of concern "You.. You're not gonna travel in that, are you?" She asks to which he raised an eyebrow at her cracking a smile bringing over the mugs of hot chocolate. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you're asking me to spend the night." He says taunting her as he sees her avoid eye contact fidgeting with the mug softly and he takes this time to approach her.
"Well of course I am, I don't want you to head outside into that snowstorm." She starts to say and he sets his mug down closing the gap between them slowly. "Sherry." He says softly watching her in endearment. "Something seriously bad could happen to you Jake and I don't think I could ever be okay with that if I were to let you leave-." Her words caught in her throat at Jake's hands cupped her cheeks, her eyes met his as the silence around them was relatively special, intimate even. "Sherry, I'll stay the night if you really want me to. I'd love to stay the night and keep you company." He confesses in a soft tone and something in Sherry's eyes lit up as her hands lightly grab his arms "I.. do want you to spend the night.. there's clothes I have here that you could sleep in. I would rather you be here with me so I'm not up all night worried about you." She says barely above a whisper and Jake's gaze on her intensifies. Something about the warm atmosphere has them slowly leaning towards each other, obvious they both want to do the same thing and nothing was stopping them but themselves. Sherry's eyes fluttered shut as Jake brought her lips closer to his, this was really going to happen. He was finally going to kiss Sherry, and there's no person to come and ruin it. Their lips were just inches apart and he could hear her breathing scatter, as soon as he closed the gap between them; her phone starts ringing and she was gonna ignore it but she saw that it was Claire and she grabbed her phone. "Forgive me.." She whispers softly to which he nods, understanding that she's probably worried about her.
"Hey Claire." She whispers as she doesn't move from where Jake's hands are still cupping her cheeks "Sherry, thank god. I saw the news and wanted to make sure you had got home okay." Claire says from the other side and Sherry smiles softly "Yeah, me and Jake are fine-" "That's great, you and Jake huh..? Okay sweetheart, stay safe." Claire says and Sherry nods her head "You too Claire, tell Chris I appreciate him stepping up and making a truce with Jake.. it wasn't easy for me to have both men not like each other. However, I also want things with him and Leon to be smoothed over." Jake feels the warmth spread in his heart from the fact she's determined to have things smoothed over so he doesn't have any issues with anyone, this is the girl who never gave up to save his life despite knowing who he was and what he'd said out of anger when finding out who his father was. Sherry was tugging at his heart more than he'd thought possible. "I'll talk to you later Claire, bye." Sherry says hanging up the phone looking at Jake sheepishly, meanwhile his fond stare grew with her shy attempts at redeeming the moment. "I'm sorry about that, Claire wanted to check in and make sure that we're okay-" She effectively lost her trail of words as Jake's lips met hers, nothing else seemed to matter as her arms wrapped around his neck returning the kiss effectively melting into him.
Jake smiles softly wrapping his arms around her waist pressing into the kiss, backing her into the couch as the kiss deepened. Their tongues lightly melding together before Sherry pulled away a little bit looking up at him, both of them breathing heavy letting the reality set in and Jake smiles at her blushing softly as he places a kiss on her forehead. Neither of them had words so they marveled in the comfortable surreal silence surrounding them, Jake smiles softly at her breathing heavily. "I'm gonna go take a shower, okay?" He speaks softly against her forehead and she nods her head at him "O-Okay Jake, let me go get you those clothes." She says as she goes into one of the rooms in the house coming back out with a set of men's pajamas causing Jake to wonder if she'd kept her dads clothes. "Thanks Sherry." He says placing a tap kiss against her lips earning him a blush from her. "G-Go on, enjoy your shower." She says shooing him out of the living room slightly embarrassed. "Don't be embarrassed to blush, you're cute when you do it and cute even if you don't do it." He says softly and she rolls her eyes with a smile pushing him the rest of the way out of the living room, he laughs fondly at her stepping into the bathroom and closing the door behind him. He couldn't believe how fast his heart was racing as he had gotten into the shower, he really just kissed Sherry and she kissed him back. She melted into him and the kiss so he knew it wasn't just him who wanted that to happen. He's known this woman for nine years and this was the first time either of them really made a move, but now that he thought about it; after she'd saved his life he absolutely felt things for Sherry.
And he feels that even more now.
Jake gets out of the shower after a while and he dries himself off grabbing the pajamas Sherry brought out for him putting them on, they fit nicely and he liked that. He gets out of the bathroom and sits down on the couch grabbing his mug sipping the hot chocolate that was almost forgotten about as he changed the Tv to search for something to watch and Sherry sat next to him curling her feet onto the couch leaning into him as his other arm wraps around her shoulders pulling her closer. "Hey, what do you want to watch?" He asked as he flicked through the channels and movies while he sipped his hot chocolate, Sherry smiles nuzzling into him having the perfect movie in mind. "Can we watch Home Alone?" She asked and Jake's eyebrow raised wondering what that was about, he handed her the remote and she typed it into the search bar "What is it? Sounds intriguing." He comments and she smiles at that clicking the movie to press play. "It definitely is intriguing, it's very funny and absolutely wholesome." She explains and he smiles as the movie started playing, he leans into the couch resting his chin against Sherry's head. "Sure, I'll watch it with you. I wanna see what this is about, I'm interested to know why you love this movie so much." He says and Sherry looks up at him with fondness smiling warmly, her smile alone spreading goosebumps through his body and warmth through his heart as he smiles back warmly at her before he's looking back at the tv to see the movie.
Throughout the movie they're both cracking up as they see Kevin successfully beat two fully grown men over and over again, Jake is thoroughly enjoying the movie and he's enjoying hearing Sherry's genuine laughter since he'd never heard her laugh before. It was something magical, he didn't truly know how to explain it but he knew it was the best laugh he's ever heard in his life. He felt like he was having an out of body experience watching her absolutely light up and burst out laughing, and her emotional reactions to some parts of the movie. It felt like he was watching a movie and she was the star, that's how magical it felt to see her raw emotions instead of her being on guard with weapons even though that too was amazing. This was a special side of his super girl that he'd love seeing all the time, he could so get used to this.
Being snowed in will either be fun or it'll be hectic, which one would you prefer to happen?
