Word count: 1605You stood at the end a of a long hallway filled with drunken teenagers and pounding music. As you danced with Kelce you pretending not to be watching Topper kissing Scarlets neck. Kelce called your attention back to him, clearly noticing your red angry face. "Let's go up stairs." He suggests. He gently takes your hand dragging you along. Your eyes never left Topper, shooting Scarlet glares until a wall separated you.
You took another sip from the red solo cup. You had a high tolerance so you were just barley getting started. But it hit you, hard. It didn't feel right. Something was off. You had only drank one vodka shot before this. It made no sense. Kelce tugged on your hand almost pulling you over. He looked at you nervous at your behavior. He scanned around the crowd to see if anyone was watching. Picked you up and threw you over his shoulder.
Your protest came out in slurred whispers. You knew what was happening but you were helpless to stop it. You felt your eyelids fall together. You were still conscious, you just didn't have the strength to keep your eyes open. The blasting music made your head throb. Kelce carried you through the crowd, no one even thought about it twice.
As he took each stride your arms hung behind him. You had manage the crack you eye lids open to see the blurring blue lit stairs. You could feel him carry you up the stair with ease. All you could think about is Topper. You hoped against everything that he could sense something was off. If anyone was gonna figure it out it was him. Maybe he'd ask someone where you went. You could hear Kelce laughing clearly proud of him self.
You couldn't help but wonder what he put in your drink. You tried with every muscle in your body to stop him but nothing happened. He climbed the last step turning in to the first open door. He sat you down on the bathroom counter and leaned your limp body against the mirror. He locked the door behind him and turned to you with a grin. He reached out lingering his hand on your thigh.
He licked his lips as he looked up to meter your reaction. He slid his hand further up under your dress as he rested the other on your hip. You felt a tear stream down your face. He pursed his lips shushing you. He wiped the tear away with a mocking smile. "Shhh don't cry beautiful, you look so pretty with my hands all over you." He taunted you. The bathroom door handle shook violently as someone tried to open the door. There was a pounding at the door you made an attempt to turn your head toward the sound. But nothing. Kales jumped. He pulled his hands away from you clearly realizing he's gotten caught.
"Shit" he whispered. The pounding continued. He interlaced his finger behind his head paceing the bathroom in front of you. "Open the fucking door!" A familiar voice demanded. You immediately recognized it to be Topper. Kelce grunted looking you up and down trying to see how bad the situation looked. "Kelce! I said open the fucking door man!" He yelled again pounding harder. You felt your lip quiver as more tears fell.
He wiped away your smeared lipstick. He positioned you trying to make it seem like you were holding your self up. He took a deep breath rubbing his hands together before reaching for the door. Right before he turned to knob the door broke open. It splintered the wooden frame. Topper stood on the other side of Kelce, breathing heavy. He looked at Kelce with rage. He didn't bother getting physical with him. He pushed passed Kelce leaning over you. He pushed your hair out of your face scanning over you making sure you were physically okay.
You could feel yourself crying, so happy to see him. You some how fought hard enough to reach out to him falling off the counter into him. He held you up, "o-okay." He grunted picking you up. Kelce stood in the corner watching the scene. Topper carried you out of the room past Kelce. As he walked past him Kelce looked only at the ground not wanting to make eye contact. He gulped clearly scared of what Topper was gonna do when he the chance.
Topper got you outside to his Jeep and sat you in the passenger side. He strapped you in and closed your door walking around to the other side. He got in and took a deep breath gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white. He slammed his hand down on the top of the steering wheel over and over yelling profanity's. He fell back into his seat slumping over. Both his hands stressfully pulled through his hair. He turned to your unmoving body.
"Are you okay?" He asked with desperate eyes. Tears threatening to spill over. You were gaining back your functions slowly. You held yourself up in the seat. You shook your head as your only response to his question. He was careful not to touch you in attempt to keep you comfortable. "Shit. I'm gonna kill him." He turned back looking out the windshield. The part continued, no body noticed the altercation. "Like actually I'm going to kill him." Topper threatened. He sounded out of breath.
It was only just truly hitting you that Kelce tried to rape you. A kid you had known your whole life. That you had trusted. Tried to hurt you like that. You felt your breathing quicken. Toppers attention turned to you, forgetting about his own anger. "Y/n." He whispered with concern. You felt more and more tears fall. You knew you wouldn't be able to forget about what he had done to you. "And what am I to do now?" You thought yourself. Your family and his family had known each other for a very long time. How would you tell your parents?
"Y/n?" Topper said again reaching his hand out for yours. You pulled away quickly not want to be touched. "Should I even tell them?" You thought. How could someone who was your 'friend' do that. Topper turned the key in the ignition. The engine roared to life. He switched gears to drive. "Where are we going" you blurted, surprising yourself at your ability to speak. He turned to you confused. He pushed his eyebrows together like it was obvious. "I'm takeing you home y/n." He explained.
You shake your head vigorously gasping through the sobs. "No, no please don't take me home." You begged him as he pulled out of the lot. He looked back and forth between you and the road. "Uh okay." He stuttered confused by your objections. "How 'bout out boat?" He suggested trying to calm you down. You shook your head agreeing.
You got to his boat and he helped you out of the car, you were still having trouble keeping your balance. He kept his grip around your shoulders walking beside you down to the deck and onto the boat. You walked yourself to the couch. He threw his keys on the counter, rushing to your side. You couldn't hold yourself together. You fell into his chest and let loud sobs out. He put his arms around you holding you tight. He rested his face on the top of your head. He brushed through your hair with one hand and rubbing your shoulder with the other.
It was a long night of crying and screaming. But Topper stayed silent, just holding you and helping you through it. That night was agony for you but Topper did everything he could to make it better. For a while you decided not to tell anyone. You faced Kelce multiple times at the country club, or yacht parties. Once he even tried to talk to you. Saying he felt guilty and he was just drunk he didn't know what he was doing. Uh he was drunk when he decided to bring roofie's to the party. He knew what he was going to do long before he ever got drunk. It caused many melt downs and anxiety attacks. But, you refused to let him see you break. Topper was there for you every time. You decided to tell your mother when she was talking about going into business with Kelce's parents. She was enraged. She helped you find the courage to tell your Dad, not forcing you to do anything you weren't comfortable with. Your parents were thankful for Toppers actions.
Topper immediately agreed to witness and testify for you when you told him you and your family were pressing charges against Kelce. You lost your case, having no proof. This was a big blow to you but over time with your family and Topper by your side you worked through it. You knew your friends believed you when Rafe, Sarah, and Scarlet stopped talking to him. This was something you'd never forget. But you were lucky to have family and friends that were patient with you. Over the span of the next two years, Topper's support turned into feelings. He became the most important person to you. You could feel yourself falling in love with him. You were terrified of what you were feeling but Topper made you feel like you were safe and heard no matter what. He was what you wanted. He helped your figure that out. He helped you find yourself again.
