Hand and Hand Through it All Pt.4 - JJ Maybank

"Fucking psychopath!" You cursed through tears as he got on his bike. He put his helmet on, whilst kicking the bike into gear. He drove off with his middle finger held high in the air. You let out a whimper as you finally took a breath. JJ turned to you, walking up the stairs. He wrapped his arms around you tightly. He turned his head so his lips were near your ear. You could feel his hot breath on the side of your face. "If he ever touches you ever...." he began. You sighed thinking he'd make some threat against his life or something. "We'll leave obx. Just me and you. We won't tell anyone where we're going. He'll never find us. Okay?" He suggested to your surprise. You nodded into his shoulder, agreeing. You couldn't help but wonder what it was he said to Rafe. When you gently pulled yourself away from JJ you saw John B holding Sarah the same way JJ had been holding you.

You felt the warmth of a small smile on your face. "That's the beautiful smile I love." JJ beamed calling your attention to focus back on him. JJ was beaming with a smile of his own. You looked down takeing one of his hands and pulling it up to the side of your face. You nuzzled into it with you hand ontop of his. "I love you." He murmured. It was normal to say that for you and JJ, even before it turned into more then friendship. You never thought anything of it. "I love you too." You assured him. He paused for a second indicating to you something was different. "No Y/n..." he stuttered out. You opened your eyes looking back at a nervous JJ. "I'm IN love with you." He emphasized "in". You took a moment to respond which rattled him. "A-and I don't expect to hear that back from you. I know there's so much going on and so much in the air and-" he rambled out defenses. You felt a smile pull at your lips. You cut him off planting a kiss on his lips. Your hand hooked around his neck running through his hair pulling him down to meet your kiss. You pulled away leaning your forehead against his. "I love you too." You repeated. And with that every worry, doubt, confusion either of you had... was gone. You knew what you wanted and you knew it was JJ. Regardless of who the baby daddy was. You loved him. Not Rafe. And you knew if you had JJ you could come to terms with that.

"Ow ow ow!" Sarah howled from the drive way hearing the whole conversation. John B walked up the stairs passed you and JJ. As he passed he turned to JJ. "Who's pussy whipped now?" He taunted JJ. You let out a laugh catching yourself throwing a hand over your mouth. "Haha very funny." JJ groan. John B patted JJ's shoulder with a playful smile. John B trudged inside, Sarah behind him.

12 months later

You had gotten a DNA test confirming it was indeed JJ's child. Thank the lord. You were pretty sure he was more excited about the baby then you were. When the baby came along, JJ tried to convince you to let him drop out of school to spend more time with you and your daughter, Jaycee. (Jace for short. Full name is Jaycee Joy Maybank... another nick name she had was JJ. You liked that she was kind of named after her father in a way. You suggested the name, JJ obviously had no objections.) You compromised. You and him decided to finish your junior and senior year online. Your beautiful baby girl was nine weeks old. You and JJ moved her to Chapel Hill. You, him and Jace moved in with Kiara's grandmother. Who was one of the few adults JJ liked. It was hard for him to like adults when they automatically thought they deserved his respect with out doing anything to earn it. Kiaras Grandmother was alot like JJ. She didn't give two shits what you did as long as you were willing to take responsibility for it and you werent endangering anyone else. She truley lived by the "Its My Life" philosophy.

Shes the kind of person that minded her own business till a point, but if you crossed the very clear line she may very well actually cut you. But then with Jace she turned into a completely different person. You all stayed in the extra bedroom. You were hopeful. For the first time in a long time it felt like there was a future for you in sight. With the boy you loved and your beautiful daughter. It felt within grasp. Sarah had texted you many times letting you know Rafe was asking about where you and Jace were. She never told him anything,knowing what he'd do if he ever found out.
