Elevator

"Anyway," Alex said, looking away and trying to change the subject while you two were both getting up.

"So, long story short, that guy Rouxls that I talked about earlier helped me sneak out of prison. "

" So, how do I get the key to get you out of here? "

" THE SHOPKEEPER, SEAM, HE CARRIES THE KEY, ONE ON A PATH YOU CANNOT SEE, A FINAL PUZZLE TO SET THEM FREE!" Jevil recites, reminding you from the back of the room as he chases his tail again.

" Who's the new friend, Y/N? " Alex teases by raising her eyebrows and saying it in a flirty way.

" Shut up! " You half yell angrily and half laugh because you know she's just teasing.

"Okay, what did he say?" 

" So basically, talk to that guy named Seam, there's a hidden path, and a puzzle."
You simplify the half-riddle.

" Kay, got it! Be back when I find it all!"

" Wait!" You yell, but it's too late, Alex starts rushing up the stairs and hurrying towards the elevator.

You hear the ding of the elevator, but you don't hear the sound signaling its going up.

"Damn elevators stuck!" You hear Alex yell in the distance.

You hear Alex dial someone on her phone.

" Hey, Rouxls? Sorry to bother you-uh..." Alex seems nervous. Could it be she...?

" Oh yeah, I-I'm fine, Rouxls, uh-But the elevators stuck on the last floor. Could you send maintenance down here or something? Without them...getting me spotted? "

...

" Of course, I'll just-mhm. Ok. B-bye, Rouxls."

She hung up and exhaled.

" OoOOoooh, who's your new friend?" You annoy her back.

" Nnnnnnnn" She signals that she's angry but she's too flustered to respond.

You give her a minute to recover from her crush-call.

" Ok, Y/N, while I'm waiting, introduce me to this new friend you have here."

Jevil stuck his head out from the corner. You gesture towards him.

" This is Jevil, and...uh-" Uh oh. Your turn to get flustered.

" HEE HEE! Y/N AND I ARE FRIENDS, FRIENDS!" Jevil runs towards you and embraces you once more without warning.

You hear Alex laughing in the distance.

" Really weird friend you have here, huh?" She teases.
Jevil jumps up.

" Well, I'd just like to see this Rouxls of yours!" You cross your arms.

" H-Hey! " Alex yells and starts a fight.

"At least mine doesn't prance around in a stupid jester costume!"

"The costume is cute and you know it!"

"Mine doesn't have some wacko tail!"

"The tail is cool and you wished you had one!"

" Uh-mine isn't trapped in a cell!"

"Well at least I'm in here with them!"
You smile smugly.

Jevil's confused about all the commotion, but he seems happy.

Alex, however, is offended by your words.

You are completely satisfied.

"O-okay, fine! You beat me on this one!" Alex says.

You hear her phone ring.

" OooOOOOOOooOO" You laugh as Alex struggles to pick it up.

While Alex is overly flustered while talking about an elevator, you decide to spend some more time with Jevil before you have to leave.

"Hey, Jevil!" You say as you walk over to him.

"Y/N! Y/N! YOU'RE THE BESTEST FRIEND EVER!" He says as he spins around and grabs you.

You laugh in shock.

He jumps out and stands in front of you.

"Jevil, you're so cool, you know that?" You say as you look at him.

"Y/N! Y/N, I LIKE YOU TOO!" He says, practically glowing.

There's a short moment of silence.

"YOUR H/C HAIR, YOUR E/C EYES, AND HOW NICE YOU ARE, Y/N!"

You blush, flustered with all the compliments Jevil seems to be yelling at you, and you wonder if he's been waiting to say it this whole time. And you've been wanting to say something, too.
