21. Foe Acquaintance

"Annyeong Jake. It's been a while" Karina gave him a hug.

"Hey" he didn't return the hug but Aerin's heart still aches. 

Aerin looked down awkwardly, avoiding any eye contact. From the side, she saw Hanee looking at her. Worriedly? More like 'eyes and heads up' kind of look.

"Are you better after the surgery?" Jake turned his body to her.

Karina looked at her legs and smiled.

"Yeah, it's better. At least I can get back to running" she nodded. Her eyes then landed on Aerin.

"Oh Hey." her tone was warm but sounded bored.

"Are you new here?" She held out her hand to shake with Aerin's.

"Yep. I just transferred today. I'm Kim Aerin" Aerin shook her hand, hiding her emotions away.

"Ahh, I'm Karina. I just came back from a long surgery for my legs. It's been exactly a year since I left?" she explained while Aerin nodded slowly.

"It's good to see you guys again. Hanee too." She looked at the guys and Hanee. They all gave her a smile, not saying anything else.

"Well, I better get back to my friends. See you" she smiled at Jake while he grinned.

'He's grinning at her'

"Be careful" Jake told her while she laughed and walked away.

'Shut the fuck up heart'  Aerin told herself, trying to look unaffected. 

Jake turned back to the table. Everyone's eyes were on him except for Aerin. She was looking down at her shoes pathetically.

The hyungs looked at him and then at Aerin.

'What?' Jake mouthed at them. They sighed and pointed their heads at Aerin. Jake didn't understand what was going on.

"Aerin. Let's get some drinks" Hanee decided to speak up and stood up, waiting for Aerin to follow her.

"Huh? Oh. Okay. Do you guys want any drinks?" Aerin asked the guys. They nodded and told her whatever drinks they wanted.

"You?" She asked Jake. 

"I'm fine," Jake said. Both Aerin and Hanee then started walking to the drink stall.

"Are you okay?" Hanee asked, locking her arms with hers.

Aerin nodded slowly.

"Maybe I'm still nervous" she laughed it off.  God knows how much she wanted to know more about Karina. 

Suddenly Aerin felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Aerin ah, can I get your number?" Eric [Eric from The boyz ok] asked, holding out his phone. He had a cheeky smile plastered on his face, making Hanee wary of his intentions.

"And what do you want it for?" Hanee glared at him.

"To add her into the class chat. What else?" he snickered.

'Class chat? I was never in one before'

"Class chat.."

"Can i? Please? I've never been in one" Aerin started pleading to Hanee.

"What?" both Hanee and Eric said at the same time. Aerin nodded pitifully.

"Alright alright" Hanee patted her head while Aerin took Eric's phone and gave him her number.

"Thanks beautiful" Eric said before joining his friends.

Aerin was stunned.

"Is that normal?" Aerin gasped, shocked that she was randomly called beautiful.
