Pepper stepped out of a black town car and thanked the driver, she looked up at the building in front of her and sighed, she was now the CEO of Stark industries and it was both a pleasure and a pain, even after all these years. She walked to the main doors and looked up in surprise, in front of the double doors stood a man in his mid thirties, with sandy blond hair, wearing a grey suit with a navy blue shirt. He looked her way and smiled as she finished climbing up the stairs.
"Aldrich Killian, its been a while" She greeted him with a soft kiss on the cheek "You look wonderful"
Killian returned her kiss "Pepper, gorgeous as ever"
"What brings you here today" Pepper asked
"We have a meeting to discuss my latest invention" Killian answered
"Well, come on in then and we will discuss this wonderful invention" Pepper gestured him in through the double doors. As they approached Peppers office, Happy stepped out from behind on of the pillars
"Ms. Potts, everything okay?" Happy is suspicious of Killian, he looked familiar but he couldn't place him
"Yes Happy" Peppers said a little annoyed "Just having a meeting, everything is good, you can go back to whatever its is you do around here." Pepper dismissed him and ushered Killian into her office, closing the door in Happys face.
Happy in turn took pictures of the two of them focusing on Killian and sent them to Tony. Meanwhile inside the office, Pepper was awe struck at how good KIllian looked, she smiled as she invited him to take a seat.
"You really look great, Killian" Pepper said with a slight blush "Whats your secret?"
"You flatter me, Pepper, but rather than tell you, I want to show you." Killian pulled out a device and the whole office was illuminated but lights and patterns,he leaned in closer to Pepper and whispered in her ear "This is a map of my brain, every synapses and neuron. Here bend my finger"
Pepper bent his finger and his brain waves lit up red but then are quickly smothered by an orange light.
"What was that?" Pepper asked, fascinated with the images as Killian pulled her onto the table and into the middle of the image.
"That my dear Pepper is where Extremis comes in" He states simply "It upgrades the human DNA, making them faster, stronger and self healing, no more sickness or disabilities, just super humans"
Pepper turned her head in his direction "Super humans?" she took pause "Thats a lot to take in and im not sure that's something Stark will want to invest in" Pepper stepped down from the table "Especially when he's seen first hand what happens when ordinary humans are enhanced"
"Do we really need to involve Stark?"Killian asked stepping down himself "We both know you are the real brains of the operation"
"I dont know Killian" Pepper hesitated "It's an asset but could also be weaponized let me speak with Tony and Ill let you know if hes interested" Pepper walked him outside. "It was wonderful to see you, Killian, Ill be in touch"
"We should have dinner tonight" Killian offered as he kissed her cheek again "Think about and give me a call by six, ill be waiting" He walked away back to his car
"Tonys not going be happy that Killian is here" Happy said from behind Pepper startling her "Youre playing with fire, Pepper"
"More than she knows" A voice said from behind them, Pepper spun around and her face registered complete surprise.
"Emmaline?" Pepper whispered
Emmaline smirked at her expression "Long time no see, Pep. We need to talk."
