Multi-PoV Chapter
MELANIE

I couldn't open my eyes.
All I could feel was the pressure on my wrists, and the fact that I was sitting on a chair that wasn't at all comfortable. As I try to remember what happened, I just recall walking in this dark alley for whatever reason, before feeling my vision getting blurry, and actually loosing any sense of consciousness I could've had.
Right now, my head was still turning, and when I finally manage to open my eyes, they feel dry and painful. A violent headache takes over my whole brain, before the pain goes through my whole body.
From afar, I could heard voices in a distorted tone:
"... this was not in our plans, and you know it..."
"... but she was in danger out there... I couldn't risk losing her, too..."
"... Jesus Christ, Mapi, you growing soft during the last phase of our plan really isn't the right thing to happen right now..."
"... don't you trust me?"
"... I do"
"... Well, of course I trust you... it's just... what was on your mind when you thought it was a great idea to abduct a renowned lawyer that is best friends with a police agent? They're gonna come looking for her..."
"... like I said, we all have choices to make, and this was mine. Now, leave us a moment, please : she will wake up pretty soon."
"... sure..."
I hear the sound of a door closing, before trying to open my eyes.
Even though I am blinded by the light in the first few seconds, some forms and colors start coming back - well, thank God I am not blind, that's a first step toward survival lol - before a shadow designs itself in front of me, only one or two meters away. The shadow had rather mid-long and blonde hair, and she was white. I immediately know who it was - maybe I've known since the beginning.
I close and re-open my eyes a few times, so that my vision would get less blurry. I see those tattooed arms I've dreamed about so many times before, and then those deep brown eyes that are just looking at me as if it was the last time. Mapi's face was closed, but I could tell she was afraid of my reaction - or me hating her. She was clinging her fists, as I just stare at her right into her eyes, shivering a bit.
