(This chapter is in a different pov)
"What's your name again son?"
"My name is Kai, Sir Tsukauchi."
"Ah how long have you been here?"
"About a year and a half sir."
"Are you familiar with the... war?"
"I've heard of it, but i was still training while it took place sir."
"I see... take a seat Kai."Kai, the new rookie detective in Musutafu sits down in front of the head detective's desk. Naomasa Tsukauchi.
"Not to interrupt, but wasn't this a closed case? All of the villains have been captured correct? Or... deceased." Kai says. "The force has been passing that lie around since the war ended nearly three years ago. Would you like to know the truth about this case. If you will be working under me it is a necessity." Tsukauchi says. "Y-Yes sir." Kai says. Naomasa gets up and walks over to a filing cabinet. He takes out a key to unlock it, then pulls out a briefcase. He sits back at his desk and keys in several codes as well as scans his thumb print for it to open.' What the hell is that.' Kai thought to himself.
Naomasa pulled out several files. He placed them all on the table. There were several other things in the briefcase that weren't taken out. He hands Kai the first file. "Read this." Naomasa instructs. Kai takes the folder and peeks into it, reading down the pages. His eyebrows rose as he continued to read. He sat down the folder and picked up the next, skimming through its pages, hopping through the words. He picks up the next, then the next, then the next. Trying to piece together what he was missing. The story made sense but there was something wrong. Something wasn't right. His heart was pounding out of his chest by the time he finished the last folder of information.
He looked back up at Tsukauchi.
"Would you like an explanation?" Naomasa asks. Kai nods.
Naomasa pulls over a figure on his desk
"Do you know what this is?" He asks. Kai nods. "Newton's Cradle. Five small spheres, suspended by a mere thin wire on each side. Held up by a greater source." Naomasa says, he pulls the sphere on the left side and lets it drop. It causes the ball on the right side to spring up and fall back down, causing the first ball Naomasa moved to spring up in retaliation, only to slam back down and the other ball to spring up. Causing an infinite channel of movement.
"Back and forth." Tsukauchi says as he stops the spheres by force.
Kai nods, unsure what this meant. Naomasa repeats what he did, this time moving two spheres instead of one. This caused two spheres on the opposite side to move. He once again stopped it by force.
Kai remained silent. Trying to understand the necessity of this demonstration.
Naomasa pulled three from the right end, causing the two on the left to spring up at impact. But as the impact occurred, one ball would switch sides. The right side would start with three. Hit the one with two. Then lose one, the one that once had two now had three. The one that had three now has two. Each time the spheres collided the center ball would switch sides.
"Kai, do you understand? Tell me." Naomasa questions. "I... I don't know sir." Kai says. Tsukauchi sighs. "Its fine son. The file isn't real, there's no need to go and lose your mind over it. Its just a little story I put together to get some hair on your back 'isall." Naomasa says with a smile. Kai takes a deep breath. "Whew! Alright sir." Kai says. "You're free to go." He says. Kai nods and makes his way out of the room.
"Tiring isn't it?"
"Shit you're telling me." Naomasa says aloud. He laughs a bit. Answering someone else's thoughts on accident. His quirk that allowed him to do so, truly only drove him a bit mad. The ability to hear others thoughts. Though it could have been an amazing quirk, it its quite fickle, it only works when it wants to. As a detective he was already off his wire. Sometimes he couldn't tell if his quirk kicked in randomly or if he was borderline schizophrenic.
"I mean really, you've gone through every detective in all of Musutafu, rookies and pros, old and young. And none of them can seem to understand your pendulum analogy. I understand it perfectly."
Tsukauchi's eyes bulge. "What?" He says, his voice just above a whisper. He walks over to his door. Looking out to see who was nearby. His quirk only has worked in a 10 foot radius. Who could it possibly be. While he frantically looked in every crevice of his office the voice continued in his ear.
"The spheres swing left and right. You pick up one and slam it against the other, naturally the other will retaliate. Like heroes and villains. All for one being the first sphere and One for all being the other...correct? To all evil, good must exist on an opposite spectrum, vice versa. When two spheres are slammed, it represents good and evil fighting hand and hand. This can be seen as vigilantes, something like that. But what would be on the opposite spectrum of good and evil working together? Society of course. Civilians need to know who to hate, who to adore. Who to love and who to fear. If that human instinct, to balance good and evil in their tiny little pea brains are broken, then chaos much larger than war would break loose."
At this point Naomasa had turned his office upside down. His breathing was unsteady and globs of sweat drained down his body. His chest was heaving. "What, how do you... who are..what is." He stutters. The room was spinning, all he could do was drop to his knees and listen as every cell in his body convulsed in panic.
"Then there's the force of three on two? But that one in the middle always switches sides? There's always a traitor. A liar. A cheater. The pendulum has no good ending. Just like the fight between good and evil. It will continue to go back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. That is until someone stops it. By force."
With that the voice dissipates and Naomasa is left in his office.
He takes a deep breath and slicks back his hair with his own sweat. He collapses against his desk. It felt as though a snake wrapped around his neck and constricted his breath.
Little did he know outside of his office window two purple eyes looked up at the building. The snake slits of the purple pupils constrict as the eyes shut. The body attached to the eyes was unknown. Just a tall boy in a hooded jacket and dark jeans. He scoffs and slides on the headphones that were draped over his neck. He begins to walk away from the building as music blasts in his ears.

I kinda forgot to build the plot and just started throwing in fillers. So enjoy some lore.
