WARCRAFT IV -- CHAPTER 2 - United under One Banner (Horde Campaign)

The Dark Portal

Thrall, Dranosh, Rexxar, Rokhan and Cairne head through the pass behind the ruined city rear gate of Zul'Gurub. An hour later, the five Horde heroes have finally arrived on the western areas of the Blasted Lands. The Blasted Lands was once known as the Black Morass. It is the region where the Orcish Horde have first entered Azeroth through the Dark Portal. Once a sickly dark fen of swampy marshland, the entire region has been turned into a desolate barren wastelands. Upon venturing the dried plains for quite a while, the five Horde heroes have eventually found the location of the Dark Portal. Upon finally seeing the Dark Portal being reopened again; Thrall, Dranosh, and Rexxar had finally seen with their own eyes the open gateway that leads up on the original world of their race.

Cairne: "Strange, coming from the jungle, this region is suddenly hot and dry just like the Barrens."

Thrall: "I was told that back in the old days, this place used to be dark swampy region just like the Dustwallow Marsh on Kalimdor. However, the lands have changed overtime due to the continuous demonic energies permeating within the Dark Portal. The gate had changed it into what it is today."

Dranosh: "Yes. This land has been permanently turned into a barren wasteland by the Dark Portal."

Rokhan: "Look, boss-man! I think that be the Dark Portal over there! That huge glowing gateway!"

Rexxar: "You are right, Rokhan! That is the Great Portal indeed! At last, we have found it, Thrall!"

Thrall: "The Dark Portal! Finally, we have found the gate of which our forebears used to get here."

The Dark Portal is located in a low ground surrounded by a hollowed slope of land. Several corpses of fallen demons are scattered around the Great Portal, and at the front of the gate itself is an army of Alliance troops that defend their lands against the incoming demons from Outland. The Alliance leaders; King Varian Wrynn, Turalyon, Khadgar, Alleria Windrunner, Danath Trollbane, Kurdran Wildhammer, Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider, and the old friend of Thrall, Jaina Proudmoore, are also present at the base of the Dark Portal. Shortly after the Horde heroes had found the gate, Drek'Thar and the rest of the Horde armies finally arrived within the region and reunited with the rest of them. With the Horde approaching the Dark Portal, the Alliance leaders quickly noticed of their presence.

Thrall: "Come, my brethren! Let us head for the Dark Portal! Soon, we shall step foot through it."

Dranosh: "Wait, Warchief! Look there! An army of the Alliance is standing not far from the portal! There are also some dead demons on the ground! The demons must have emerged from the portal."

Thrall: "Yes, and the Alliance troops are closely watching over the gate! Those people in the front, they are the Alliance leaders that I had spoken with previously, and look, Jaina is in there as well!"

Drek'Thar: "It appears that the forces of the Legion from the other side had begun sending its dark warriors to this world in an attempt to launch another invasion. I think we had arrived just in time."

Rexxar: "Drek'Thar! You are here at last! And you have led the armies of the Horde here! Perfect!"

Thrall: "Very well! Now that our forces are here, it is time that we finally head for the Dark Portal."

Varian: "Hold fast, soldiers of the Alliance! We shall kill every single demon that steps foot to this world! Maintain your positions! We will make sure that the demons will not even make it out far!"
