ben's day offBen sighed deeply as he stood in the living room of his house, consistently wiping the sweat from his hands onto his black jeans, running one of them through his hair seconds later. He had no clue why he felt so nervous, he'd hung out with Elle multiple times and they had been fine, but this time around she's bringing her son with her.
He knew basically everything about her past relationship and how it crushed Archie when Isaac left so abruptly, it was one of the main reasons Elle stayed within her circle of friends and didn't venture out.
He also knew that he had to please her, and her son, because he really liked this girl and he really really wanted for her to be his girlfriend. Ben knew the second he started to pursue her that she wouldn't be easy, and he really didn't care, he was head over heels for her and he'd probably go to the ends of the earth to make her happy.
A message came through on his phone to tell him that Elle was one-stop from the train station, so he shook himself off and left his house with his car keys and phone in hand. He made a quick stop at a local shop to get everyone a drink before he arrived at the train station, tapping his fingers against the steering wheel as he parked up.
He walked into the train station and moved his sunglasses on top of his head, looking around in search for the bubbly blonde and her son who had just arrived. Ben took his last moment of loneliness to wipe his hands on his jeans again and make sure his hair looked perfect before he saw her appear holding Archie's hand.
Ben smiled at her, waving nonchalantly as she swiped herself and Archie through the bollards and made their way to him. He wasn't expecting a hug from her, but he sighed in relief when she wrapped her arms around his torso and gave him a warm and inviting cuddle.
"Archie, you remember Ben don't you?" Elle asks, slipping his Spider-Man backpack onto his shoulders.
"Hi Ben." Archie grins cutely, waving at him at the same time.
"Hey kiddo." Ben smiled, opening his hand for the little boy to high-five him.
Archie did just that, laughing when Ben pretended to be hurt by it before the three of them left the train station and walked to Ben's car. Elle explained the hassle she had this morning with almost missing the train but huffed with relief anyway, thankful she was here and not back in London where she felt like a burden.
"Alright kiddo, you get to choose where we eat lunch." Ben speaks up as they settle into the car.
"McDonald's!" Archie calls back with excitement, Elle looking at Ben sheepishly as she knew that he was still mid-season and he had to be careful with what he eats.
"We don't-" She goes to speak but Ben cuts her off.
"McDonald's it is." Ben beams, smiling at Elle and looking at Archie who's eyes were lit up with excitement.

"Slow down, you're gonna get hiccups." Elle says as she watches her son attempt to stuff his face with fries.
"Before I eat this, I request that you do not tell my manager or he'll bite my head off." Ben comments, looking at Elle before looking down at the Big Mac in his hand.
