Elle laughed softly as she sat on a red tartan blanket underneath a willow tree, watching Archie try his hardest to catch the butterfly he decided to chase for something to do. Talia and Simon sat on the other half of the blanket watching the boy as well, Simon and Elle sharing a look of contentedness at how happy their boy was.

"I don't know how he's doing that, it's boiling." Talia complains, fanning herself with a paper plate. Elle agrees with a hum, joining in with the paper plate fan whilst Simon got up to play football with Archie.

"So, now it's just us girls, how's everything going with Ben?" Talia asks, wiggling her eyebrows as she moves closer to Elle.

"Everything's going great." The blonde simply responds, not wanting to reveal too much.

"Have you slept together?" Talia grins cheekily, hoping to be met with a firm no but instead was met with pure silence. Her eyebrows raised with shock as the two girls look at each other, Elle not daring to say anything whilst Talia assumed all the right things about what had happened between her and Ben.

"So you've slept together but he's still not asked you out? Is he a pussy or what?" Talia laughs.

"I wouldn't say so." Someone else speaks, both heads turning to see Ben standing there with a cap on his head and sunglasses over his eyes.

"Oh my god, pretend I never said that." Talia gasps, hand slapping over her mouth as Ben pulled Elle onto her feet, kissing her softly. Talia gagged jokingly behind them, laughing when Elle took one of her hands away from Ben's torso to give her the middle finger without even looking at her.

"Ben!" Archie calls out, waving the footballer over to join in with what was going on. Ben smiled, pressing a quick kiss to Elle's lips before walking over to Archie and Simon.

Simon introduced himself to him, the pair having a quick chat about how they were before Archie told them off, telling them to get into position before moving to drag his Mum and Talia up from the floor.

"Mummy go on Daddy's team." Archie pouts as he watches her walk to Ben.

"Go, I'll be fine." Ben whispers, smiling at her as she and Talia swapped places.

Archie spent at least an hour playing football before Elle and Talia eventually timed out, too warm and sweaty to continue without collapsing. Simon eventually got his son to calm down and sit on the blanket to eat, Ben sitting beside Elle with a smile on his face.

"What brings you to London on this fine May Day?" Elle asks the brunette.

"Figured I'd surprise you." Ben smiles, letting her head rest against his shoulder.

Soon enough Archie had passed out on the blanket with his head on Simon's lap and his feet on Elle's thighs, the sun knocking him into a deep slumber he couldn't fight off. Simon offered for Elle to take him even though it was his weekend, but she shook her head, telling him that it was his weekend to spend time with him.

"Mummy loves you." Elle whispers, moving some hair out of his face before kissing his cheek.

"See you Monday afternoon." She quickly hugs Simon and Talia before she and Ben walk away from the blanket. Talia watched them as she laughed, jumping on his back as he carried her to his car without a second thought.

"I'm glad she's found someone." Talia smiles.

"Same here, he makes her happy."

Ben hummed softly as he lay on the sofa in Elle's living room with the blonde, her head resting against his chest as Modern Family played on the TV. The air conditioning was on in Elle's flat which made it chilly enough to use a blanket, so their bottom halves were covered by a blanket Elle found in her room.

Elle tore her eyes away from the TV for a moment to look at Ben, the left-back looking down at her with a small smile before she captured his lips in hers. It got a little heated, Elle discarding the blanket as she was now sitting in his lap, legs either side of his thighs, hands tugging on the hair at the back of his neck.

"Go out with me." Elle speaks, pulling away abruptly.

"I already am, we have dinner reservations later on." Ben teases.

"No, I meant go out with me, as in be my boyfriend." She responds confidently, noticing the look of surprise plastered on his face.

"You beat me to asking you out." He pouts as Elle laughs, resting her hands against his cheeks.

"But, that doesn't mean that I won't say yes, so yes, I will go out with you." 

"Good, because I would've locked you in here until you said yes otherwise." Elle jokes, fingers running through his hair softly.

Ben leant forward to kiss her, hands splayed against the small of her back as he poured as much love and happiness into the kiss as possible. He was completely and utterly serious about her, he wanted her for the rest of his days and he wanted to see her gorgeous smile on her face forever.

He was going to make her happier than she had ever been, he was going to make her forget about her past with Isaac and make sure she feels more loved than any other girl in the world. He couldn't wait to treat her son as his own, he couldn't wait to be close friends with her friends, he just couldn't wait to be hers for life.

And he meant for life with every bone in his body.
