Clint Barton woke up in a bright room. Too bright for his liking. He blinked a few times to adjust his eyes to the light and recognized the room he was in as a cell. Clint remembered how they were captured by Ross and his man but he couldnt pinpoint how he got into this cell. The front wall was made of glass though so he could see what was going on outside. The only thing blocking his view were vertical iron bars right in front of the glass. He slowly sat up on the plank bed that he was currently sleeping on. His eyes wandered to what was outside of his cell and he felt a kind of relief when he spotted Sam and Scott in the other cells- he was not alone.
But then it hit him; where was Wanda? He got up from his sitting position and pressed himself up against the glass wall. He thought that maybe she was just out of his eyesight but there were only the three of them, no Wanda in sight. A groan was heard and he moved his head in the direction of Scotts cell. He seemed to be waking up just now. Almost at the same time Sam also awoke from his sleep and rubbed his eyes, yawning loudly.
"Are you all okay?" Clint asked both of his teammates.
"My back hurts, those plank beds are so uncomfortable" Scott complained to which Clint raised an eyebrow.
"Oh yeah besides that I'm fine. It's not like I'm locked away in a high security prison in the middle of the god damn ocean" Scott exclaimed.
"Calm down Scott. We knew that this would happen sooner or later if we side with the Captain. I just hope that our capture gave Steve enough time to get away with Buck. Otherwise our sacrifice would be completely in vain" Sam sighed.
"What now, are we just gonna wait until the Captain breaks us out or what?" Scott asked.
"I don't think we have any other options" Clint statet "Have any of you seen Wanda by the way? She is not in here"
"No, not since we went into that room to change. Where do you think she is?"
"I don't know, Sam, but I just hope that she is okay"
"Oh Mr. Barton, the little witch is in the best hands, don't you worry" the Secretary himself said as he walked into the room, a smug smile, that Clint wanted to punch out of him, played on his lips.
"Where is Wanda?" Sam yelled at Ross, bangig his fists against the glass wall.
"I would keep quiet Mr. Wilson. Anyway, that's out of your concern. You should worry about yourself first, all of you"
The three of them just rolled their eyes at him, clearly annoyed at the Secretarys choice of words.
"I'm here to offer a deal for you."
"Let's hear it, it surely is not about telling you were the Captain is to diminish our penalty" Clint scoffed
"Be careful with your words, Barton.
I must admit, your assumption is close, but not exactly what I had in mind.""What do you have in mind then?" Scott chimed in.
"If you wouldn't interrupt me all the time, Mr. Lang, I could tell you." Ross said, now also clearly annoyed by this conversation "So, gentleman, my idea is that all of you are free to go after you tell me where Captain Rogers is."
"What is the catch?" Clint asked curiosly
"The little witch will have to stay"
"No way, we are not letting her alone to rot in a cell in the middle of the ocean. We are a team. Did you really think that we would actually agree with this deal."
Sam banged against the glass wall once more out of frustration."I actually expected you to decline. But I can be very persuasive" Ross said as he snipped his fingers. The heavy metal door opened with a click and a bunch of guards came through the door. When Clint saw who they held in the middle of them, his mouth stood agape as well as Scott's and Sam's.
