The Avengers just landed in Sokovia, or rather what was left of it. The atmosphere was very tense since they didn't know what awaited them in the old HYDRA base. But they had to complete this mission; they had to save Wanda. Clint and Natasha had the task to get Wanda out, the rest had to fight the agents off. They went through several hallways until they found the cells, but Wanda was nowhere to be seen so they continued to search for her. Natasha soon found a staircase that lead down to another lever, so they decided to check it out. Downstairs was only one door. With a loaded gun in her hand, Natasha opened the door and instantly shot every HYDRA agent or scientist. Then, her and Clints eyes landed on the medical table in the middle of the room. There, Wanda layed, silently crying. A machine was attached to her head with electrodes and a blood soaked bandage was loosely draped around her head. At the sight the two Avengers gasped.
The Black Widow stood in shock, unable to move forward. Clint broke out of the shock and moved to Wanda's side. He took her hand and gave it a squeeze to show her that they were here."We are going to get you out of here kid, hold on" he told her.
"Let me die..."
Natasha now also was at Wanda's side. They almost didn't hear what Wanda had said. Her voice was barely audible.
They started to work on the restrains that held Wanda to the table, not realising that the machine that was attached to her head caused her pain.
"Please" Wanda cried, "let me die"
Since she was speaking, the shock collar additionally tortured her. They almost didn't notice that because Wanda didn't react in the slightest way. But her body shook ever so softly. When they were done with the restrains, they moved on to the electrodes, easing Wanda's pain at least a little bit. Natasha then carefully pulled the dirty bandage off of Wanda's head and revealed the trepanation wound.
"Shit, what have they done to you my love?" Natasha urged.
Clint picked the barely concious girl up and went to carry her out of the hell hole. But they soon realized that the shock collar was again torturing Wanda. If it wasn't for her shaking body, they wouldn't have noticed because Wanda didn't react at all.
"Put her down Clint, its hurting her."
He did as he was told and put her down again.
"How do we get this thing off?" he asked.
"The remote has to be in this room" Natasha said more to herself than to Clint.
She began to search in the scientist's clothes. After a few moments she found it in the lab coat of the scientist that was closest to the medical table. Natasha pressed the button which opened the collar. Blood was running out of the wounds in her neck that were caused by the screws that held the collar in place. Clint quickly ripped a part of his shirt off and wrapped it around Wanda's neck. It must have hurt like hell, but the witch again showed no reaction.
"Does she even realize that we are here?" Clint wondered because Wanda didn't look at them once.
"I don't think so, but we can talk about that later. Let's get her out of here first."
When Clint picked Wanda up again, her head just lulled to the side.
"Let me die" she wispered again, a distant look on her face.
Clint and Natasha shared a worried glance and then made their way back to the jet where the remaining Avengers were already waiting.
"What took you so long?" Tony asked. But when he saw Wanda's state, he didn't need an answer.
They started to load the jet to finally go home. Since it was revealed that Ross had worked with HYDRA, the Sokovia Accords were dropped and the Avengers could return to their facility.
