If the Crux ship was grand, there were no words to explain the absolute celestial beauty that was the Jade Chamber.Once beyond repair, the Jade Chamber had only just announced its grand announcement about how the castle in the sky would return to its former glory in just a couple of hours!
Both Kazuha and yourself sat a few feet away from the tall wooden building structures that surrounded the rope-bound building. You crossed your arms and awed. "How do you think they're gonna get down and then back up when it goes up though?"
It was a serious question. I mean, at least to you it was - would they just glide down? Build pillar after pillar on top of one another to climb back up? Would the grand rumoured Ningguang be inside the building as the ropes are cut and it floats up? What if it leaves the atmosphere with her inside?
Despite the horrible anxiety inducing thoughts that ran through your head, Kazuha laughed, elbowing your side softly and nodding towards Beidou who had been waving you two over to her. "Let's go." He chuckled.
It calmed you for a second and you quickly decided to store away your terrified thoughts.
Beidou stood with her signature confident pose, her laugh rumbling through the air as it always seemed to be - no matter where you were, if you listened hard enough you seemed to be able to catch an echo of her laugh somewhere around Teyvat. This time, however, you were surprised at the person she was laughing with.
A tall woman with long white (almost blue?) hair that braided near the ends stood beside the brunette. Her face hard as a stone and you worried if the look she was giving your new captain was a glare or just a deadpan.
"Hello!" You greeted the woman, eager to leave a good impression on her just as Beidou had told you to do. "I'm y/n, the new crewman to the Crux ship. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ningguang!" Each word was laced with confidence and nearly pride - by the end, reaching out a hand to her in hopes of shaking with hers.
She, however, swapped her dagger cold look from Beidou, to you - and if possible, it got even colder.
"Who-?" She started, but was cut off by Beidous uncontrollable laughter.
Now all the attention was back on her as both you and Ningguang turned to give her a head tilt. Kazuha, standing right beside his captain, awkwardly shifted his gaze from one person to another, and it was only until the captain was hugging her stomach from laughter that she raised a shaky finger and voiced through cracked giggles one of the most horrifying sentences that you could have heard that day.
"That-! That's not-! Ningguang!"
A freezing cold wave flooded over your body as you stiffened up. "They're not..?" You whispered to the woman who only wheezed harder at the little voice crack between your two words. Slowly, you turned to the unknown woman who merely shifted her cold gaze from Beidou to you - her brow lifted.
"My deepest apologies." You gaped, raising your hands and intertwining them together in a praying notion. "I'm afraid I've confused you for someone else. I'm sincerely sorry, I will make sure I don't do this mistake twice."
"Don't fret." She seemed to deadpan, raising a hand to wave you off. "I am not of this Ningguang woman you speak of, however, I am Shenhe."
"Shenhe here is an adepti." Beidou explained.
You raised a brow and looked between the two women. "Adepti?"
"The adepti are beings that protect the land of Liyue, hand picked specifically by the Geo archon; Rex Lapis."
All turning to the new (seemingly familiar voice judging by the smirk that pulled on Beidou's lips) you all turned and watched as an elegant woman donned in a graceful Liyue styles dress.
