With the final name written down, Jean's hurried steps approached you with a bounce. "Okay, so we're doing a group tour with everyone around Mondstadt. Just to introduce you all to the shops, restaurants and other daily needs around the city." She explained, waiting for your reply.Looking behind her, the group of excited crewmen - resembling more children on a vacation rather than rowdy Pirates - stood in lines waiting to be lead through the stone gates. You hid your displeasure, feeling almost stupid for thinking the acting grand master would give you a private tour. So you nodded, smiling as naturally as you could before following her to the group.
Now, Mondstadt wasn't that big of a city - and if you were honest, Liyue harbour seemed to be bigger in comparison. The tour guide introduced the church, the large (quite unsettling) statue of the anemo archon that overlooked the city, the taverns, restaurants, shops and knights of favonius headquarters. They also mentioned the adventurers guild being around the main entry gate.
Jean stood behind the group near you, eyes trailing to you every other moment. Softly, she spoke to you; "I saw that you're part of the adventurers guild. Thinking about taking up a commission here in Mondstadt while you're here?"
Turning to her, you shrugged. "I haven't been able to take any commissions ever since I joined, to be honest. I've been too busy working my ass off trying to pay back a citizenship."
The woman tilted her head. "A citizenship?"
You grimaced, you really needed to work on not spilling more personal info about yourself than needed. "Uh...yeah. I only recently moved into Liyue for better opportunities." You lied. "I just didn't consider how expensive their citizenships were."
"You need to pay for a citizenship in Liyue?" She scoffed.
Now it was your turn to tilt her head as she shrugged, explaining; "here in Mondstadt, citizenships are free."
"They are?"
She giggled, nodding her head. With a playful tone she continued. "Consider moving to Mondstadt."
"Maybe I will..." you chuckled, looking ahead and continuing to follow the tour guide in front of you.
When the guide reached the last 'important' point of their tour and all questions were said and answered, you were granted the freedom to roam around as you please - getting notified that lunch would be served at the hotel at around three in the afternoon and would end at five. It gave you around two hours before you could return and get some much needed food.
But that was still a lot of time spent in an unknown nation. From the looks of it, you could really explore the outer towns and villages that lay further from the city walls and come back with plenty time left.
Well, would it be all that bad of an idea? Liyue didn't have many towns that you knew of - one well known one in Minlin, if your memory isn't fooling you - but other than the one or two, the rest of the scarce buildings around Liyue plains were lone properties or ghost towns. What was left of once upon a time villages.
Before you knew it, your feet had already dragged you out the stone doorways and past the bridge - scaring a flock of birds away and ignoring the annoyed whines of a kid that was feeding said birds.

Thirty minutes later, you were certain you made a mistake.
Trusting your gut (horrible decision considering the past gut choices) you walked southwards, towards the taller fields and away from the blistering winds of dragonspine; a place you were planning to visit, but not when you didn't have a jacket on you.
