The crystal caverns of the Hidden World greeted them as they glided down to their cave. Several dragons approached Toothless but he dismissed them saying he would call a meeting later. Dart looked worriedly at her father who was pacing angrily, to her mother who was rubbing Prickleboggle saliva onto Ruffrunner's tail.
Dart knew she was in trouble and she knew why she deserved it. She knew it was her responsibility to own up, not to place the blame on others like she always did. She took a deep breath and said, "I'm sorry. For everything."
Her family froze, Pouncer's jaw dropped and Toothless smacked himself in case he was dreaming.
"I was selfish, only thinking about the adventure I wanted that I didn't think about what everyone else needed. I put my own needs above my brothers' safety. I have failed all of you."
Everyone stared at Dart, wondering what had come over her.
"Its ok, everyone makes mistakes sometimes," said Ruffrunner.
"B-b-but I always make mistakes. I could've gotten someone killed!"
"It doesn't matter, it has happened and we're all ok. What matters is that we learn from failure."
"Your brother is right," said their mother, "and it seems you've all grown a lot from your little adventures."
"Don't worry sis," chimed in Pouncer, "we have your back. I still think you're a great leader and I would follow you to the end of the world."
"Thank you," sobbed Dart. "I will do everything in my power to be worthy of your trust."
Suddenly, a roar interrupted their discussion. The dragon council was being summoned.
