The sound of ambulance and police sirens cutting through the cold snowy dusk in February had engulfed the entire place. The Police force and the forensic team were scattered all over the lodge, examining the crime scene, taking samples and scratching out every piece of evidence possible.
Medical team was taking bodies for further procedures. The place which was once filled with the laughter of the group of young people just a few hours ago was now filled with blood. Their blood.
Except for one person.
His legs were rooted at the same spot since he found the bodies of his friends and informed 911.
His eyes were focused nowhere in particular but they weren't blinking either. It looked like he was in a trance. He couldn't believe what happened or how. But he was scared. He was all alone. At a place which was now covered with his friend's dead bodies. The same ones he was partying with a little while ago, the same ones who were killed brutally.
"Mr. Park!" He heard his name being called from far behind.
Park Jimin. The only one alive.
"I have been calling you," it was Officer Jung Hoseok. He was the one who was in-charge of the case and had been running around the crime scene for the past hour.
"I can understand what you are going through but we need your statement. You will have to come with us." He informed the still shaken boy and asked his associate officer to take the boy to the station for further details.
Jimin nodded his head in understanding and left with the officer, leaving the place in silence.
4:22 am | At the police station
Once at the station, Jimin was taken to the investigation room, followed by officer Jeon.
Jimin had been in the investigation room for the past 20 minutes, recalling and going through all the details of the particular night.
"What exactly happened there Mr. Park?" Officer Jeon asked. He sat down opposite to Jimin in the investigation room.
"All of us made plans for valentine's day and after referencing everybody's work schedules, we finalised to host a party near the lodge. We booked the entire place for a night and a day before. We were playing games and there was alcohol too. Soon the games turned not so sober and we ended up playing truth and dare" Jimin explained to the officer.
"Everything was going well. But then I overheard Mark talking to someone about how he had planned to do dirty with Katherine." He disgustingly said, scrunching his nose.
"Were you angry at that?" The officer purposely asked Jimin.
"Of Course I was. Wouldn't you be if someone makes your friend uncomfortable while being drunk" Jimin questioned back.
"I sure will. So what did you do? Hit him? Kill him?" Officer Jung asked the suspected boy.
"Officer, I didn't kill anyone!! Why would I do that to someone for this? I just played smart and discreetly. When we were playing Truth or dare, I dared Kathrine to go back home. Since it was the game and she had to obey, she left the place" Jimin furiously told the officer, who asked with a raised eyebrow.
"So you told her to go home?" Officer Hoseok asked, arching his brows. Jimin nodded his head in affirmation.
"Have you informed her about this yet?" Jungkook asked this time.
"No. I couldn't think straight at that moment. I just called you and the hospital." Jimin truthfully answered.
Hoseok nodded his head, noting that down. "So Mr. Park, don't you think it's unusual for those events to occur? First Cole Smith, then Jun Autumn in a car accident and now 4 deaths, all in a row!! Are you sure there is no enemy of you and your friends?" Officer Jung asked, eyeing the boy suspiciously.
"I told you everything I know already" Jimin was shaking with fear. The scenes from the lodge are still so evident in his eyes.
"Okay. Where is Kim Taehyung and Jen?" Jungkook asked, leaning against the table Jimin was held captive at.
"They went on a date. So they were not with us." Jimin said. Officer Jung only nodded and hummed, writing down everything. Officer Jeon was called outside by someone so he went out only to come back with someone with him.
"Jimin!" Katherine said once she spotted the male sitting in the room with another officer.
"Kat!" Jimin's eyes widened when he saw Kathrine there.
"I... I went to... everyone is..." Katherine started but her words came out wobbly because of her muffled cries.
Jimin held her in his arms trying to calm her down. He didn't know he had teared up too and wiped his own with the back of his hand.
Officer Jungkook made them both sit down and gave her some water. After calming down he took Katherine's statement too.
"What do you know about everything that happened back at your so-called party lodge?" Officer Jeon asked the girl.
"I don't know much sir. We were playing some games and I was dared to go home by Jimin. I left" Her statement was short. She looked at Jimin who was nodding his head in assurance.
"Ok. Only you and Jimin were present at the crime scene when things happened. So, let me tell you, this leaves us with you two as the prime suspects. Especially you Mr. Park." Officer Jung informed the two. He pointed his finger towards Jimin suggestively.
"I understand," Jimin nodded.
Time: 6:51 am
After the interrogation, they both were sent back home. Katherine looked so shaken up with everything that happened so Jimin decided to stay with her for a while.
Katherine started crying as she remembered the scene she witnessed back at the lodge. Her sobs turned harder by the second and Jimin didn't know how to comfort her.
"I'm scared," Katherine said, hiccuping due to her intense sobs.
"Shh... nothing will happen" Jimin hugged her tightly and started rubbing her back in order to calm her down.
"But... I..." she was cut off by Jimin's voice once again.
"N.o." Jimin said in a warning tone.
"No. I killed him!" Katherine announced.
