I killed him

"No. I killed him!"

Valentine's Day -

After having an extremely stressful week, all the friends decided collectively to organise a party for Valentine's Day. Since all the friends were full time jobs or for Maeve, who worked part time, they had to take out the particular weekend for the party.

After another brief discussion, Maeve offered her parent's resort for the venue of the party. The boys helped with beverages while girls took charge of the decorations.

"Let's meet around 8?" Maeve asked on the conference call. She and Cheryl were currently discussing outfits and makeup prior to the celebration. The two best friends agreed and soon Cheryl informed everyone about the timing.

Katherine had to take early leave from the hospital and so she went on with her usual appointments.

Before the actual party started, Taehyung and Jen were called by their agency and they had to go for some work and since they had a date later on, they bid an early goodbye from the rest of the friends.

Once the clock hit 8:30, all the friends settled down in front of the place. The resort was beautiful as expected. It had a beach-like setting with benches lined up around the pool area. The lights were hung up all over the place to give the place a more romantic vibe. There was a dancing area and a walk-in bar as well. The place was perfect for the valentine's party the group has arranged.

Everyone was sitting in the living area when Cheryl and Maeve came out of a room after fixing their makeup and joined the rest of the gang down. Katherine offered Maeve a muffin which she gladly took. Now that all of them were together, they started playing games. Someone suggested playing Truth or dare. All of them agreed and took out a bottle to spin, just to make things spicer.

In the first round, Amber had the tip of the bottle towards her and the base was at Cheryl. "So, truth or dare?" Chery asked the girl.

"...dare" Amber answered being hesitant.

"Ok. I dare you to go to the lake and wet your legs and come back. Alone." In the chilled weather, that too at such an hour, it was a-torturing-dare. And knowing that Amber was very sensitive to cold, it indeed was a D-A-R-E to her.

Amber stood up and went to do her dare. Everyone sitting was contemplating some refusal or struggles from the girl but she instantly agreed to do it. Everyone thought of continuing the game after Amber returns.

"I'll call the hospital and let them know that I'll be late tomorrow." Katherine had a shift in the morning the next day, but everyone insisted she should stay so she had no option left. And seeing how everyone was definitely not going to stop till the sun rose, she decided to let her fellow doctors know about her situation and take over her patients.

After a few minutes of waiting, "What's taking her so long?" Jimin wondered out loud.

"Scaredy cat must have lost her way," Cheryl commented, giggling. It was true in a way. The way to the nearby lake wasn't very well lit and since the sky was already getting darker, it was nearly difficult to make out the way

"That's not funny" Jimin glared at her which made her instantly stop talking.

"She must be on her way back" Katherine assured while entering the room and picking up on the conversation.

"Let's continue the game" Mark stated and spun the bottle. It landed with its tip towards Katherine and the base towards Jimin this time.

"I dare you to go home," Jimin stated without hesitating. Everyone looked at him, snapping their heads as if he'd demanded each of their kidneys. He overheard Mark's conversation with Cheryl about how he had other plans about Katherine a while ago.
