Heart wants Katherine

The news of a series of murders broke out faster than expected. News channels, media and many reporters were having their own take on the story with their own perspective. The entire crime scene got flooded with reporters which eventually got harder for police to handle.

Taehyung and Jen eventually came to know about the murders that day when they were called to give in their statements. Being in the same friend's group, they were asked all sorts of questions. They told the police everything they knew about that day.

"Did you sense something odd with their behaviour? Anything that seemed off about their plan?" Officer Jung asked both of them.
"Nothing I can think of, sir. They seemed pretty happy with the hangout plans" Taehyung answered the cop.

"Where were you when it happened?" Officer Jeon asked next. Even though he knew, he wanted to listen to them.

"We were on a date sir," Jen said this time. Both the officers asked a few more questions and afterwards, they asked them to leave.

Both of them arrived at Katherine's house where Jimin was also present. It was still morning so Katherine made them coffee. Taehyung asked Jimin about the incident at the lodge and how it all happened.

"I went to Mark's place. His parents were devastated about the news. I feel so bad about all of them" Taehyung said to Jimin. He nodded and they both decided to visit a few more of their friends' families the next day.

The entire afternoon was filled with some casual talks and other stuff. All of them tried to lighten up the atmosphere a little but the gloominess didn't fade away that easily.

Jimin was doing his absolute best at comforting Kathrine in the situation. She was devastated with the news and having being responsible for one of the murders there, she was very restless.

"Here" Jimin came out of the kitchen with a hot chocolate a while later. She was lost in her thoughts and was brought back to reality with Jimin's voice.

She's always been the jolly one in their group. Even though she was busy most of the time, she had it in her to make the room light by her mere presence and now that she was awfully quiet, it wasn't resting well with Jimin.

She took the cup from him mindlessly and thanked him. He sat beside her and took her hand in his own. "You don't have to worry too much about it Kat. It was an accident. You didn't do it on purpose." He mumbled to her so that Jen and Taehyung wouldn't be able to hear it.

"I still did it. Accident or anything, I did kill someone. I wasn't supposed to do that. He didn't deserve that" she mumbled back and was on the verge of crying.

Jimin hurriedly pulled her close to his chest and wrapped his arms around her shoulder. She rested her head on Jimin's chest and silently started sobbing.

"Everything will be alright. Don't think too much about it. You're stronger than this, right?" He tried to calm her down with his words.

They sounded meaningless at that time because of the situation they were in. But somehow the words made Kathrine a little calm. She listened to Jimin's heartbeats and soon her sobs turned down and she took a deep breath, closing her eyes.

"I'm tired" she mumbled, still buried deep in his chest.

"Let's get you to bed, hmm?" Jimin slowly got up from the couch they were at and pulled Katherine up with him. She was leaning completely on him so he snaked his arm around her waist to support her and took her inside her bedroom.

After she was sound asleep, Jimin came out of the room and sat on the couch opposite Taehyung and Jen. He was smiling profusely to himself while blushing hard.
