It was a beautiful mess. Security personnel went down by flies, dropping to the floor in paralyzed heaps. Nightmare could feel his grin growing as he turned and shot three guards, watching their shocked faces go slack and their muscles turn to jelly. When everyone was down, he closed the door and locked it, then turned to the humming command panel. It was a mess of lights and colors, a blinding array of power sitting at his fingertips.

His fingers glanced over buttons and levers, enjoying the feeling of possible disaster being caused by a simple addition of pressure. It was a beautiful feeling, like holding the detonator for a bomb. The power and control that came with it were intoxicating, giving Nightmare that untouchable feeling that came with positions like this.

"Hey!"

Nightmare's head shot up as the voice spoke right next to his ear, but he was the only lucid person in the room and he was wearing a helmet. What room even was this? There were buttons and pipes, glowing and gurgling. A control room? Oh, the prison break! But who was talking to him? He turned in another circle, kicking a body or two and garnering no response.

"Dream? You there?"

"Dream's gone," Nightmare said smoothly, relaxing as he recognized the voice and the slightly heavy feeling next to his ear. "Hello Technoblade."

"Hi Nightmare, no time for talking. Do you see the computer with the cameras?"

"Yep," Nightmare replied, hurrying over to them and kicking limp bodies out of his way. "Need me to take them down?"

"Yes."

Nightmare shoved the unconscious lady out of the office chair, spinning slightly as he rolled up to the computer. He pulled up the commands and started typing, watching the code scroll past his eyes in droves. He adjusted a few lines, then watched as the video screen displaying the camera feeds went dark. One by one, they shut off and left behind a dark sheet of glass. When they had all shut off, Nightmare stood back up.

"Okay, it's shut down. What now?"

"Start the alarm and run," Techno replied, sounding tense.

Hit that red one with the yellow designs, Dream whispered, his voice curling it's fingers around his memories and plucking one out. Dream was doing surprisingly well, not exuding panic like he usually did when he wasn't in control. Then pull the lever with the green handle and get the fuck out. That's the escaped solitary prisoner alarm, so all the guards will flock there. Only problem is it'll blow your eardrums out, and some of the other guards will go make sure the rest of the prisoners are where they're supposed to be.

"Check in with Phil one more time and make sure he's ready," Nightmare said to Techno. "Dream's saying that this alarm is going to make things loud and chaotic."

There was crackling in his ear as Nightmare's fingers hovered over the button, careful to not even brush it. The yellow lines decorating it looked like a firework, starting inwards and expanding out. A few sets of buttons over sat the lever, the metal shaft shimmering in the glowing lights. Nightmare waited, then his earpiece crackled again and Techno was back.

"He's ready. Stop stalling and let's get this over with."

Nightmare didn't hesitate. He pressed down on the button, then ran to the lever and pulled it down. The room groaned, metallic voices shrieking and joining with the grinding of gears. Then, red sirens mounted to the walls started to glow and the alarm blared. It was a horrible sound, like screaming banshees had mated with a Tyrannosaurus rex and created some hellspawn intent on destroying eardrums. Nightmare flinched back, heart racing at the increasing noise. It was impossible to hear anything beyond the screeching, even with the specialized guard uniform.
