Dream was sitting at a cafe across the street, the green hood of his sweatshirt pulled low over his brow. He kept his eyes on the bank and he kept nervously tapping his fingers against the table he was sitting at. It was a cloudier day, perfectly suited towards Dream's mood. A group of girls sitting across from him babbled loudly as they cleaned up their plates, obviously looking forward to the weekend. Dream missed the days where homework and movies he wanted to watch with Fundy were his biggest problems.
"Hey did you hear about the Sleepy Boys thing?" The girl tossed her bleached hair and held out her phone for the others to see, smirking as they gasped and nodded.
"And the explosion and all that?"
"Oh my gods I heard about that!! And now people are saying there was a breach at Pandora's something or other."
"Oh please, no one can get it or get out of there. Plus, how could they be at the station and the prison at the same time, let alone the same night?"
There were noises of agreement as the girls moved on and Dream let out a low sigh. He had to keep reminding himself that pretty much no one knew who he was and they didn't know he was connected to the criminals running the city. They used to know who he was, back when he was dating Fundy, but the internet had eventually forgotten about him. It was better that way.
He was distracted when the red sedan rolled up next to the curb and honked. Dream's head snapped up and he saw Tommy sitting in the back, waving at him. He grimaced and walked up to the car as Tommy rolled down the window.
"Get in bitch."
"I'm not in the mood to be kidnapped, thanks for the offer."
"Dream, please just get in the car," Wilbur said from somewhere inside. "We can't talk out in the open."
Dream growled under his breath and pulled open the door. Tommy moved over and he slipped inside.
"Thank you," Wilbur said, his voice bright. "We wouldn't kidnap you, I promise."
"Well, not without your consent," Techno added from the driver's seat.
"How the fuck do you consetually kidnap someone?"
"You ask 'hey, can I kidnap you,' and when they say yes you do."
"Well then it's not kidnapping!"
"Will you two shut up," Wilbur asked mildly. "You're scaring him."
Dream just shrugged. This was amusing, but had nothing to do with why he was here.
"Okay so basically I had an idea," Wilbur started. Techno hit the gas and they zipped back onto the main street, headed straight for the bank. "You can't arrest someone you can't find, right? Well, if you disappear with us for a little while, the police won't be able to find you! Win win."
"What, I'm just supposed to drop everything in my life and be a crime boy with the rest of you? I was a cop, Wilbur! I can't just go around going against the laws I was trained to upkeep!"
"But you already have," Wilbur pointed out, counting off the instances on his hand. "You let us go free, you agreed to meet with us here, and you haven't attempted to arrest us."
Dream groaned, leaning back in his seat. He didn't want to believe this, but he actually was a little intrigued.
"Look, we just gave you an out for a really tough situation. You can either take it or leave it," Techno said. "We're at the bank anyways, you can ponder on it while we go in."
"You really think I'm going to sit here and let you rob a bank?"
"Yes. But don't think of it as robbing, and more as developing a trust fund."
