Chapter 3

A/n I'm back. I just noticed that in the last chapter I said phase 2 of her kekkai genkai was used to talk to others telepathicly so I'm going to switch phase 2 and 3 at least for Kaiya it switches. Also I just wanted to say that I do not own Naruto or the plot. I only own Kaiya and her mom and any other characters I may create. I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Kakashi's pov

Kaiya and I are walking around the village right now. I have a feeling that she is ready to go to the Nara compound but I need to have a chat with her first.

"So what was that about your previous teammates not making it?" This isn't what I wanted to ask but it will get her to relax for a bit.

"Oh I just thought I would mess with them a bit. I'll tell them tomorrow that they are still alive just no longer Shinobi. After all they failed your test 2 years ago. If they couldn't figure out that everything you were doing and saying was hinting at us working as a team then they shouldn't be Shinobi."

"You know a few of the jounnin think that I passed you just because your my daughter." I glance at her out of the corner of my eye to see her reaction.

"*Sigh* I'm not surprised really. A bunch of the chunnin think the same thing or that I cheated with my kekkai genkai. What they don't realize is that I didn't unlock it until a few weeks before the chunnin exams that year. But all that really matters is that you and I as well as Lord Hokage know the truth."

"Yeah and you proved to all my friends and a few others that you earned it."

"Mhmm."

"You know, Gai told me something interesting earlier today." She's getting nervous now.

"Oh, um, wh-what would that be?" She stutters.

I raise an eyebrow. "He said you were possibly slacking off on your training. How is it that a race up the stairs of the hokage tower had you out of breath?"

"You know how he is dad. He's so fast and there are hundreds of stairs in that building."

'Now she's just making excuses.' I think.

"I think that tomorrow before you arrive at the training grounds you should run some laps around the village with Gai and Lee."

"Are you trying to kill me? You know they run around 500 laps around the village. I'm lucky if I can keep up with them on a good day but tomorrow I'm supposed to skip breakfast remember? Plus after that we'll be testing our new team. I'll probably pass out before lunch."

"What if I let you eat breakfast before your run? You should be hungry again by the time you make it to the training grounds."

"You know I can't do that dad. If the others aren't eating breakfast then neither am I. Even if I know the reason why we can't. Though I was thinking about testing them on their will to follow through on that."

"Explain." I say as I start leading us to the Nara's compound.

"I thought that I would take a few apples in my bag and offer them to the others once I get there. You know to see if they would break the rules."

"That's a good idea actually. Let me know how that turns out. Now onto my main question. When did you start cursing? Gai told me you did that a lot on your mission and I did hear you curse earlier."

"Oh, I've been doing that for awhile now just not around you. I didn't know how you would react. I'm sorry. I'll try not to do it but I can't promise I won't. It's become a habit I guess." She rubs the back of her neck.

"*Sigh* Look I'm not really that upset about it. I was saying those things at your age as well. It's just hard knowing that you're growing up. You're not my baby girl anymore."
