Athena x Artemis x Aphrodite (part 2)
Artemis ran through the forest. As usual she loved the sensation it gave her. The surge of energy, the fresh and damp air, the wind blowing through her hair. There was nothing quite like it.
She came to a crossroad of trails. By heart her feet carried her down the right path, leading to another crossroad.
This time however the huntress went straight ahead and followed the flowing trail up the hill. At the end of the trail was a meadow with a single tree. It was an open place hidden in the middle of the forrest.
A place safe and secure of nosey eyes and gossip. A place where the goddess of the hunt could truly be herself.
She entered the meadow and let her hand touch the long grass that reached her waist.
Artemis made her way to the tree where two women were waiting for her. One was sitting against the tree with a book in her hands. The other was laying with her head in the first woman's lap, chatting about something.
Whatever she was talking about involved a lot of gestures. The goddess of the moon smiled to herself. The scene was beyond typical. Athena reading, only paying half attention, her hand in Aprodite's hair as the latter went on and on about whatever held her interest in the moment.
Artemis contemplated not disrupting the scene. The two of them looked simply adorable. But deep down inside her jealousy nibbled. How would she love to have Athena's long fingers running through her own hair or have Aphrodite lie in her own lap.
Without even realizing it her feet started carrying the goddess of the hunt towards the women underneath the tree. Right up until the point where she stood right in front of them.
"Refreshed?" Athena asked without looking up.
How this woman managed to do anything without taking her nose out of her book was beyond Artemis.
"Very." She replied, sitting down to Athena's right, leaning her head on her shoulder.
"Mhm, good." The wisdom goddess hummed.
For a moment she turned her head to give Artemis a kiss on her head. However the latter knew her girlfriend's eyes had never left the page.
"Why so far away?" Artemis heard the disappointed voice of her other girlfriend ask.
She looked down to see Aph with a pout. She stretched out her arms above her head towards Artemis.
The huntress rolled her eyes but smiled. Instead of keeping her head on Athena's shoulder, the moon goddess opted to lay down her head next to Aphrodite's.
"Happy now?" She asked her girlfriend.
"Always with you next to me." The love goddess winked in return.
It made a slight golden blush appear on Artemis' cheeks. Aphrodite decided to add to it and pecked her on the cheek.
"I love you." She smiled.
"I love you too."
With both her girls in her lap confessing their love for each other Athena couldn't help but feel slightly left out. Yes, she was indeed reading, but in her case that didn't mean she didn't know what was going on around her.
To get their attention the wisdom goddess cleared her throat in an over dramatic way. It earned her the laughter of both Artemis and Aphrodite. The sound filled her ears like music and lifted her spirits in the exact same way.
"Yeah, yeah, we love you too." The love goddess stated, playfully rolling her eyes.
Over the edge of her book Athena had caught the gesture. She slammed her book shut and placed it next to her.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?!"
"No, I don't think I did."
"You totally did!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about. Arty, dear, did you see me do such a thing?" Aphrodite asked, hoping her girlfriend was willing to play the game with her.
Artemis had no trouble joining in on the playful banter between both her girlfriends.
"Nope, never happened."
"You-"
Athena let out a frustrated grumble.
"You are both unbearable." She stated.
"And yet here we are." Aphrodite grinned, taking the wisdom goddess' hand in hers.
"You loving us and us loving you."
"Do I though?"
Artemis faked a look of hurt.
"You wouldn't lead us on now would you?"
"Oh, I would." Athena teased.
"No, you wouldn't and yes you do love us. I think I would know don't you think?" The love goddess in her lap smirked.
"Don't do that."
"Do what?"
"Expose me." The grey eyed goddess said.
"And have you hide important information from us?" Artemis grinned.
"It is called privacy." Athena retorted.
"Haven't I mentioned there is no such thing when you live with me?" Aphrodite chuckled.
"When did this whole thing turn against me?" The wisdom goddess wondered.
"When you allowed two women with outspoken minds to lay in your lap." Artemis clarified.
"Good to know I won't be doing that again."
"If you so much as dare live up to that, I will leave you." Aphrodite stated.
"Does that mean leaving me too?" The moon goddess wondered.
"No, just the grey eyed pain in the ass."
It is safe to say the three goddesses sat there for another while, bickering, joking, laughing and loving.
