After a few hours of chatting and watching the telly, Kyle and Janna got ready to go to bed.
Kyle quickly went to the bathroom to take off the bandage which he wrapped around his bleeding arm a few hours ago. As he unraveled the bandage he saw more and more dry blood that had seeped into the many layers of bandage. Then he finally got to the end of the bandage and saw all his cuts that were now dry and had a thin seal of dry blood. His arm still had a sore, burning sensation whenever it was in contact with objects and surfaces so he had to be slightly more careful when doing things. As he looked at the cuts, the voices came flooding back into his happy and empty mind. Kyle's body started shaking. The tears started flooding out. The pain. The fear. The voices. Dan. Dead. Gone. Forever. The light of his life. Has burnt out. It can never be lit again. All he has is memories. Of his smile. His face. His happiness. Gone.

"Kyle? Are you crying? Are you okay? Can I come in?" Janna panicked and knocked on the bathroom door.
"....D-don't worry-y ..I-I'm fine.." Kyle whimpered from the corner of the bathroom.
"Um okay,.. if you say so," she replied and went back to the bedroom.

"Just g-go back and ff-for-get about it all," Kyle muttered to himself as he got up, pulled down his sleeves and wiped his tears and tried to fight the fear. He opened the door and went into the bedroom. Janna was fast asleep. Kyle crept into the bed and turned off the light on his bedside table. There he lay looking straight at the ceiling which was non-existent as it was pitch black. It was completely silent. Kyle then shut his eyes to go out from reality and into the dream world.

Suddenly all these flashbacks and memories came back from when Dan and Kyle first met. Kyle tossed and turned in his bed all night long trying to force the memories away for now and let him have some peace, but they only got worse, reminding Kyle of all the good times all leading up until the last time he said goodbye to Dan.
Kyle giving the house keys to Dan and the long warm hug they had before Kyle left Dan for the last time.
Ever.

The silence was so violent. There Kyle lay, in the darkness looking into space. With just one wish. One wish to have Dan back. Kyle would do anything to see Dan again. Anything.

Kyle looked at his phone on his bedside table to see what time it was. It was 4:14am and Kyle was scared, tired, alone, and in deep agony for one man.

Then the voices as usual tell Kyle "there's only one way to see Dan again, but that would mean you would get a visit from the grim reaper too."
Words and voices were swirling around his mind for hours, he even saw the sun rise. But Kyle still could not sleep. The voices had taken complete control. Kyle felt weak. Abandoned. By his best friend.

So

Very

Alone.
