"I can't do this anymore... I don't remember anything Sap! It's all jumbled. I barely even remember you!" Karl panicked as he paced back and forth across the oak floor, Sapnap was standing in front of Karl  trying to calm his lover with a look of worry." Karl look at me" Sapnap gently grasped his fiance's hands in his. Karl looked up into his eyes. His eyes were wide and blank
"It's ok not to remember I know you're trying youre best. but please try to remember him"  The strain in sapnaps voice made Karl feel guilty, Sapnap desperately wanted his two fiances not to hate each other again. Sapnap led Karl to the couch and pulled out a book full of photos of the three "Look Karl there's us" he pointed to a photo of all three laughing together. In the picture, you can see how much the three of them loved each other. It was taken in front of the Eiffel tower all three of them each had two rings.
Karl looked at the photo with hatred; he didn't remember this. " I don't understand, He killed me Sapnap. Why do you want me to remember him so badly? He murdered me " Karl uttered exasperated. His eyebrows furrowed and got up with a pounding headache " I'm going to my library" He muttered as he walked off.
Books littered the floor and the shelves. Karl was at his table hunched over his journal, trying to write down all that he could remember before it slipped away. He stood up quickly and went over to this giant board where papers and pictures were pinned. Events of all the places he had been. All connected by a single gold thread that glistened in the dark room.

His headache got worse as time went on, he knew what it meant, but he couldn't do anything about it. Glistening yellow eyes stared at the giant board in confusion as he rearranged the papers. He hated that he couldn't remember anything. the words written in his books didn't make any sense, they were just meaningless jumbles.

He thought if he continued to write it down it'll all make sense. Karl was pulled out of his thoughts when there was a loud BANG coming from his library, swiftly he lifted the trapdoor and climbed down the ladder. Standing there in the darkly lit room was XD themself. His headache was gone.
"Oh, there you are."  Karl looked at XD, who was standing next to the portal, and sighed
"You trashed my library I just cleaned it "Karl murmured as he picked up the books that fell to the floor. Karl picked up a book and paused, a million thoughts racing through his mind.
"Why are you even here XD? Sapnap's here. You usually only come when I'm alone?" He set the pile of books onto the closest table and turned to face them. " I swore I told you I wasn't going to travel for you anymore"
XD just stared at Karl, his mask just smiling back at Karl as if he was taunting him with the threat of life or death.
" I need you for one last mission"
Karl scoffed "You said that last time and the time before, Its always one last mission with you." He shoved past XD starting to brew a potion. " What's in it for me?"
" You save the lives of everyone .And your memory"
Karl froze in his spot, slowly he turned to face XD. A bottle of fermented spider eyes in his hand. "Don't promise me things you can't make true" He scolded the god, turned back and poured a potion of poison into the brewing stand " What's the mission?" Karl asked after a long pause he grabbed a potion of night vision and put it in as well making a potion of Harming
" I need you to get a book"
" A book? Are you serious? Were in a library for prime's sake" Karl through the assortment of books on the nearest shelf and glanced over at XD
"I need  the book of Revival"  Karls eyes widend as he almost fell off his stool
"Youre joking" karl groaned looking back book in hand. He's  heard all about the infamous book of revival. Dream had it and everyone wanted it. "How am I supposed to get it? Dream has it and he's not giving it to anyone not even George." A while back Sam had paid George a hefty sum of money to try and get the book from Dream but that plan didn't work.
"  I can't explain too much but you need to go back in time and kill the guardian of the end and you need to get the book before Dream obtains it."
" So you promise my memory back if I do this?" Karl asked, growing more hesitant by the second.
XD's mask just smiled back the void behind the mask was peeking through a crack in the mask, air scarily cold. Nothing else was said
Hesitantly Karl spoke up" And what If I don't get the book?"
They moved closer to Karl, who backed up to the table a splash potion of poison II fell off its brewing stand, and XD caught it still looking at Karl. " that's the fun of it all Karl, fail and youre nothing more than a particle in the everlasting winds of time."
"Seems a bit...harsh don't you think?" Karl paused looking back to the ladder wishing and creating his escape.
XD played with the dangerous splash potion in his hands. They held it up and examined it "Last time someone worked for me and failed, their memory was erased"
Karl's head turned back, eyes wide. The only other person who had memory problems on this server was......
