Chapter 7

"Red," Fauna knocked on Red's door, "it is time to wake up."

Red awoke from her slumber. The rays of the sun lit up the room. The chirping of the birds was heard loud and clear. It was like any other day.

"Wake up, boy!" called a man outside Phillip's room.

"What is the trouble now, fair man?" Phillip asked once he opened the door. It was notorious that he hadn't sleep well. Heavy eyes were threatening to close.

"Do not leave your horse outside the stables!"

Oh, that. The walk back to the inn was tiresome, and Phillip couldn't remember ever putting his horse back in the stables.

"Accept my sincere apology. It will never happen again."

The man huffed and walked back downstairs. Phillip returned to his room. He was alone. That's how it had been. Every time he went out, most of the time, he forgot to leave his horse in the stables.

He put on his best clothes and went to get his horse. He was going to see Red today. He always saw her. It had become their daily routine ever since that wolf incident.

"Where are you going, young lady?" Merrywether asked Red once she got downstairs.

Red was dressed in a simple dress and was carrying a basket.

"I'm going to collect berries," she simply answered.

"You haven't eaten breakfast yet!" Flora remarked.

"I will once I get back!" Red called back. She left the cabin and headed straight for the woods.

"Just be careful!" called Flora after her.

She has never been this excited. She was going to meet with Phillip today, again. For the last days, she had been going to the woods on the excuse to collect berries.

"Woah," Phillip steadied his horse as he followed the path through the woods.

He finally arrived at the lake, and got off his horse.

"Phillip!" Aurora called as she arrived. She ran to hug him, and he returned the gesture.

"Goodmorning, Red," he told her as he hugged her. He could smell the sweet scent of strawberries in her hair.
