Chapter 8
"How long is it going to be before you leave?" Red asked Phillip. They were siting under the tree where Phillip's horse was tied to.
"Pardon?" Phillip replied.
"You can not stay here forever. Eventually, you will have to find her or go back to the castle." Her face fell from the realization that he will have to leave eventually. She stood up and walked to the open area.
"Red," he began, "there is still plenty of time." He stood up an followed her. "Let's not worry about about that now."
The sound of the water from the lake echoed through the woods.
She smiled and they walked towards the lake.
"Phillip," she began, "it has been months."
"I know," he replied staring at the water.
"Do you not miss your home or your family?"
"I do," he looked at her. "Everyday I think of them. Until I remember that I am not ready to be king." He walked back to his horse, "besides, I could not bring myself to tell King Sebastian that I did not find his daughter."
"How do you think she is like?"
"I do not know. No one knows. The peasants say that she looks just like Queen Nellie. "
Red chuckled, "Blonde and fair."
"Almost like you," he looked at her. They locked eyes for a moment.
"I'm sorry to disappoint," she began, looking away from him, "but a majority of the peasants in the village are blond and fair too."
"I would say you are the prettiest out of all of them," he responded, eyes not leaving hers.
She blushed and walked to a nearby berry bush. "You are just saying that to be nice." She began picking berries, one by one and dropping them in her basket.
He walked towards her. "I am saying that because it is true."
"Flattery towards the peasants won't make you a king." She faced him.
"It was an attempt." He smiled at her.

"Flora, Fauna, Merryweather, I came back," Red called as she entered to cottage.
The three godmothers approached Red.
"And the berries?" Flora asked.
"Right here," Red answered, raising her basket of berries.
"Red, you know we do not like you wondering into the woods," Fauna began.
"Do not worry. I can take care of myself," Red stated and made her way upstairs.
Once she was out of sight, Merryweather asked, "When do we plan on telling her the truth?"
"Just give her some time," Flora said.
"Flora, It's been months since her birthday passed. King Sebastian expects his daughter back any time."
"Can we just give her some time-"
"Time for what? The curse passed. she will be safe with her family."
"I guess you are right, Merryweather. We will tell her tomorrow," Flora agreed.
Fauna sat down at the table. "Our dear Red," she began. "I can not stand the thought of not having her under our care anymore. What if Maleficient plans to do something to her?"
Flora and Merryweather joined Fauna at the table.
"We saw nothing of the curse, yet. it does not mean there will be none," Flora stated.
"We still need to tell her the truth," Merryweather told them. "We can not keep her from it."
