Chapter 2
"Sebastian, what have you done?" Queen Nellie sobbed. Once her husband told her about what he did to her sister's lover, she was horrified.
Maleficent loved a werewolf. She found out about this affair when Maleficent and Nellie were in their teenage years and just maidens in the village. At first, she wasn't thrilled at the idea that her sister was in love with a werewolf. Love was love, and there was nothing that could be done about it. Along with this love affair, Maleficent was introduced to the dark arts. She wasn't thrilled at that either.
Maleficent, however, promised to not abuse of this power she learned of. She promised to use it to protect her loved ones including Rameses, her werewolf love.
Time passed and Nellie charmed the young Prince Sebastian. When Sebastian and Nellie married, Maleficent went to live with Rameses in the woods. Rameses was an alpha, so he had his pack to look after. He loved Maleficent, though. They were living a loving life. That was until the day Sebastian killed Rameses in a fit of revenge.
"I didn't know we had a daughter on our way, love," King Sebastian admitted.
They were no longer at the party but in their bed chambers. Fingers graced over the door, and a knock on the door was heard.
"Who should that be?" wondered Queen Nellie.
King Sebastian crossed the room to open the door. When he opened it, he found the three fairies who gifted his daughter standing in front of him.
"Your majesty," Flora stated as she and the two fairies bowed, "we wish to help."
"Your help is appreciated, but you already did what you could," King Sebastian replied.
"Perhaps not all is lost," Merryweather suggested. "Maleficent would trust that Princess Aurora would be here in the castle, but what if she was hidden? Not to be found by her."
"Are you suggesting that we hide our daughter?" Queen Nellie breathed, still saddened by the curse that was planted on her daughter.
"Yes, your majesty. This way, Maleficent won't find her. If she can't find her, she can't send out a wolf to scratch her."
"I see where you are going," King Sebastian murmured. "Sadly, there are wolves in the woods. There is no chance that hiding her will actually work."
"We can try," Queen Nellie gently spoke. "There is a village. She can be hid there until her eighteenth birthday has passed."
"Are you sure about this?"
"I want her to be safe, and if it takes eighteen years without her, I'll take it. I want to be with her and assure her that she will be safe," tears started to water Queen Nellie's eyes as she spoke.
"Will you, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather take care of Aurora until her eighteenth birthday has passed?" King Richard asked the fairies.
"We will do everything in our power to guarantee her safety," Flora answered.
"Then go. Time must not be wasted," Queen Nellie whimpered. She walked to the crib that held Aurora, "I love you, and I want you to be safe. We will see each other again, I promise. You will be safe." She handed Aurora to Flora, "Protect her," she pleaded.
"We will, your majesty," Flora replied as she took Aurora.
The three fairies rushed through the castle with Aurora. They sneaked out through the bridge and into the woods, where the village awaited them. Meanwhile, a heartbroken queen cried her heart out while being comforted by her husband.
