Chapter 9

Queen Nellie was sitting in front of her mirror and untied her braid. She stared outside her window as her golden hair was falling down.

"She would have turned seventeen years old today," she stated sorrowfully as King Sebastian walked into the room.

"She will come back, hopefully," he reassured his wife.

"Have you heard from Prince Phillip?" Nellie turned quickly to face him.

"Nellie, we have not heard from him in a long time."

"But he said-"

"I know what he said, but we need to be realistic."

She stood up and faced her husband. "I want to talk to my sister."

"No, you will not."

"Sebastian, maybe if you just apologized for-"

"That witch does not deserve an apology or anything from us!" He grabbed her hands. "Nellie, she cursed our daughter. Basically killed her-"

"But she might be alive!" Nellie exclaimed as she pulled away.

"Nellie, we are running out of time. Any hope that she will come back to us rests on keeping her away."

"What if it does not matter? What if she dies? I do not want to miss my daughter's last moments because of fear."

"Nellie-"

"If a wolf, a random and insignificant wolf, gets near her, this will all be in vain." Nellie's sobs were loud in their quiet room.

Sebastian's eyes fell to the floor.

"I do not want to live apart from my daughter anymore." She left the room and left her husband to contemplate on the possibility that their daughter would be alive.
